This porter was a great blend of bitter and taste, something I have come to expect from a porter. We ended the night on this brew, and it definitely was worth the extra pain the next morning. PhillyBeer2112 (2850) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - OCT 7, 2002

Had this one on draught at the brewpub near Union Station in Washington, D.C. Hazy dark brown pour with a light brown head, chocolate malty nose, a nice creamy chocolate and malt flavor, smooth finish, very nice. MilkmanDan (1943) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - MAR 13, 2004
Deep red, very little light shows. Minimal head. Roasty, tobacco, bit of molasses. Quite drinkable, smooth and quaffably thin without being watery. Coffee, chocolate, and a milky sweetness at end. Stays a bit dry and smoky in the finish for a pleasantly long while. Admittedly not particularly porterish, its lightness reminds me more of a roasty dunkel than anything else.

Decent porter, a bit over the top roasty but one of their better beers. Great happy hour brew @ $2.50 a pint. pericles35 (24) - Somerville, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 7, 2007
Had it on draft at the Baltimore location. Black with a light brown head. The porter has some citrus hints against the almost chalkiness. This is my favorite American Porter. GenDV138 (7284) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - JUN 12, 2016
4 oz pour on draft at Capitol City Shirlington. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, roast. Tastes of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasty notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Liked it. lmahony199 (52) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - OCT 26, 2001
Lots of unique nut flavors. But like tbookman said it is a bit thin. blank (996) - Austin, Texas, USA - SEP 16, 2003
a decent drinking porter. nice dark color with a nice aroma. Not as heavy as it could be, but a very good drinking beer.
