Cask at GBBF 08. Very dark brown, thin beige head. Pretty nice choc porter. Decent flavour in mouth, good drinkability, tasty, good fullness, makes me feel good. Bit of harsh roast which stings the tongue. Good. Rune (12612) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 20, 2010
Well kept cask conditioned ale at Cask & Barrel. Beige-brown head on top of a more or less pitch black body. Smell of slightly roasted, sweet malts. Taste of creamy chocolate, hints of lactose. Very much on the sweet side, but one half pint was alright (weatherbound in Edinburgh, 01.12.2010).

2. Cask Handpump at the GBBF Earl’s Court, London 08/08/2008
Fruit and roast aromas. Dark red coloured smooth on the palate and fruity with a little dryness in a full coffee roast finish. DruncanVeasey (8225) - NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 28, 2011
Bottle from...oop north. Deep and oily with imaginary ruby glints at the edges and a dirty tan collar. Arresting, appetising aroma wafting with seashore brininess, coffee dolloped with butter, pippy black currants like you sometimes find added to an Indian dish, dark sticky dried things, musty old port. Slippery, complex dark brew with layers of sticky sweet sherry and port, chocolate yoghurt, kippery single malt stirred with liquorice falling into place. Smoke, butter and ink. Not often these days my descriptors really get pushed...but there are odd, unameable flavours swirling about here...all of them good. Deep, characterful porter with glints of complexity borrowed from a much stronger beer. larsga (7509) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 23, 2013
Medium beige head. Nearly opaque black body goes deep dark brown at edges. Roasty earthy linoleum aroma with spicy caramelly notes. Dry-sweet roasty earthy caramelly taste with plasticky notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish resiny earthy prunes aftertaste with burnt chocolatey notes. Nice, drinkable, pleasant. (0.5 bottle, from Clarkes, Whitby.)
