Bottle. Pours a dark brown body with a slight ruby hue at the edges under a small fizzy beige head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is a mix of heavy dark fruits, cherry, oak, some slight balsamic vinegar, and touches of chocolate and caramel. The flavor is rather tart and acidic, but there’s enough fruitiness, oak, and caramel to keep it fairly well rounded and soft. Maybe a bit more balsamic vinegar towards the finish, but still not overly dominant acidity. A tannic dryness throughout, enhancing the acidity. This is pretty well done, it could match up against many of the best Belgian efforts. Nice pinpoint fizzy carbonation level. Good stuff, even at just over 4 years old. Pours slightly hazy blond with low white head. Taste is of sourness, lactic? Acetic? Palate: Soft-medium carbonation. Light-medium body. Overall: Very nice. Under controll, nice blend.
sample @ EBF 2015. unclear dark golden, amber, light brown tint, with a small light beige cap, some retention and lacing. cherry bretty fruitiness, other red fruits, some raspberry and plum vinegar - never overwhelming - light yet linear acidity; some sweetish woodsy brown maltiness, lots of barrel spices, pepper. light carbonation, light body - oily; semi-sweet lightly tart/astringent and woodsy-spicy finish. could be a tad dryer. still nice. mathieuc (4000) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - APR 8, 2015
UPDATED: APR 10, 2015 Pour at EBF 2015. Pour is a clear brown with a small offwhite head. Light vinegar on the nose and fruits, pleasing. Taste is fruity, lightly sweet and not too acetic or acid, even. Gentle. Light-medium bodied, medium carbonation. Good but a bit less than what I was expecting. gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - FEB 1, 2015
Bottle at home. Pours clear light amber with no head. Lactic nose, cherries. High acidity in the body, some wood impression which is quickly undone by the lactic character. Some fruit sour in the taste... Dissapointing.

Bottle at RBSG 2010 shared by j12601 I believe. Pours a hazy brown color with a large tan head. The aroma had a nice tart fruity aroma favoring cherries and berries with mild funk, caramel and a light woody notes. The flavor had tart cherries, berries, wood, caramel and a light musty funk. I would have liked to try this again, but it hasn’t happened to date. bottleforager (3211) - Gray, Maine, USA - AUG 17, 2013
Pours a rusty murky brown color with a finger of eggshell foam. The nose is deep tart cherry, cider vinegar, old wood and cocoa dust. The palate follows with lots of vinous cherry notes wet woody notes and some roasted malt, a touch a acetic burn in the throat keeps me from loving this beer but it is enjoyable. cubs (10721) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUN 22, 2013
