Bottle from Half Time. Pours gold with a creamy/fizzy white head. Aroma is floral, maybe with a hint of pale malt. Med body. Flavor is floral, touch of citrus, somewhat bready. There’s more content to this than many Kolsches. Captain Lawrence doesn’t skimp. Finishes bready/citrus with a decent amount of bitter. sethbreaker (180) - New York, Greater London, USA - APR 28, 2012
On draught. Biscuit malt on the nose, Sweet on the palate, some earthy character, smooth slick mouth feel, similar to a cream ale. Uninspiring. hainer (20) - New York, USA - APR 26, 2012
Quite strong for a Kolsch. Pours with frothy head and looks oddly red for this style of beer. Instead of light bitterness, there’s a touch of umami. Maybe a Kolsch in name alone? Overall, an interesting beer, but stylistically it feels in no man’s land. BREWMUSKCLES (2727) - New Jersey, USA - APR 23, 2012
some corn and fresh malt with wheat and root vegetable sweetened some. moderate body just a touch slick and frothy. bitterness kicks in with hardly any accompanying flavor in fact none. malty wheat finish sweet with perhaps some caramel. dogfish120love (1339) - Westfield, Massachusetts, USA - APR 22, 2012
Pours a clear bright vibrant yellow. Grass and floral notes with cereal and hay. Slight fruitiness.

12oz bottle served in a glass beer mug. Light German hop and sweet malt in the aroma. The beer is a clear yellow color with a white head that left a thin coat of lacing. Good balance of flavors, the beer is crisp and refreshing to drink. A fantastic summer time beer. BigSound (196) - New York, USA - APR 6, 2012
Pours transparent hay color, white head great sip or gulp lacing all the way down. Mild aroma of citrus, hay, bread. Tastes is the slightest bit sweet, grain, a bit of breadyness, some citrus flavors in the finish. High carbonation, light body, very refreshing. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 30, 2012
Draught at Blind Tiger, NYC. Clear golden - white head. Light buttery. Toasted. Bread. Toasted. Light fatness. Hay. Straw. Ok - if no buttey/diacetyl. dogfishho (669) - Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA - MAR 21, 2012
Pours somewhat cloudy. Golden color with bright white head. The aroma is filled with sweet fruits, some white bread, and a mild earthiness. The flavors are wonderfully mouthcoating for the style. Apples, mild hop bitterness, an almost buttery quality as well, but really crisp and clean. Great Spring beer. UDBeernut (2883) - Saint Johns, Florida, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Had on tap at a local pub, poured into a cheater pint.
A: nice straw yellow, slick 1/2" head with decent retention, reduces to a cap
S: neutral scent, slightly sweet, mild floral
T: nice biscuity and grain sweetness well balanced with flowery hops
M&d: as expected, ligh mouth. Excelllent drinkability. Kolschs are the shit and this is an excellent example.
