Colden bright color; nice perlage, very small bubbles; medium sized head. The aroma is intense, with strong toffee; the hops are very piney, but also with a touch of vanilla and cookies. Excellent toffee flavor, with some residual sugars, but the body is quite lean; there is some cake flavor too; very strong bitterness, fresh hopping, creamy and biscuity, with soft fruits and soft resins. Powerful but harmonious.

Cloudy amber color; creamy head. Very nice hoppy aroma, with resins and fruits (delicate grapefruit). Good malty body, with an excellent aromatic and powerful hopping, with a lot of hop oils. Smooth and elegant. Excellent!
Amazing in nearly every aspect. The coloring was a beautiful dark bronze, the aroma was ridiculously hoppy, and the flavor was everything you expect from an IPA and more.........much, much more. Hearty and easy to drink, yet there’s so much going on, you will savor every sip. Absolutely no hint of the alcohol this one packs, and the aftertaste just makes you want another one (and another one after that). Finally, a brew that lives up to the hype, I can’t say enough good things about this fine crafted specimen. I can’t imagine it gets much better than this! cazort (565) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2008
(On tap) Outstanding; a truly unique beer. Aroma strongly of grapefruit...fruity, complex, and genuinely grapefruit-like, with the bitterness, bite, and fresh and clean aroma. I’ve never had anything even remotely like this, and I absolutely love it. For having such a high alcohol content, this beer is surprisingly light and refreshing. Prior to drinking this beer, I haven’t tasted a single double IPA that I actually liked, since most of them are too heavy, taste too alcoholic, or have some sort of objectionable quality to the hops. This brew has no objectionable qualities whatsoever, and has a lot of complexity, in a unique sort of way. I became a huge fan of this beer with the first sip and am eager to drink it again. On tap at two different bars: This poured copper in color with a medium-size head of very fine white bubbles. The nose was wonderful with scents of tropical fruits (mango, pineapple, orange) that make me think of Hawaii. The palate is rich and concentrated with great balance and finishes with a dry bitterness from the wealth of hops. This one just hits my sweet spot all around, great brew imadeadguy (378) - back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA - AUG 27, 2008
Growler/tap. Wow! This is what a dipa should be. Pour is hazy amber with lacy white head. Aromas strong of pine, citrus, and sweet malt. Flavor is all hops. Not dry to finish and I can’t find anything wrong with this one.

Growler from Bierkraft in tumbler. Hazy orange copper with lasting head and lotsa lace. Extremely piney citrusy hop aroma. Medium honey orange sweet fruitiness with bursting hop flavor and bracing bitterness. Some of the freshest hop flavor I have had. One of the most quaffable and best tasting DIPAs I have had. 1-2-10----pours a slightly cloudy copper body---heavy hanging lacing with a light off white foam--almost the perfect hop aroma for me---malt balance vs. sweet pungent citrus --its a hair light (sorry for the 9 captain)---creamy sweet body dances on the palate--nothing wrong with this beer--i am struggling with a perfect score --its all DFH 90 minutes fault!!...perhaps it will change after I taste it again---it was amazing with aged sharp cheddar! tdtm82 (1701) - Essex, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2010
UPDATED: APR 6, 2011 Bottle acquired from Beermerchants. Excellent aroma. Fantasitc amount of hops on this. Appearance is first class. A lovely thick white head thins out perfectly. Golden colour inside the glass.
This is quite a boozy beer. A good big IPA. A lot of fruits; a medium dry finish, citrusy and fantastic Belgium style yeast strain. Caramel body and maybe marzepan too. I’m really enjoying this. Aspire to have this on tap one day..... Puzzl bring a keg with you on the 20th!!

This beer is what got me to want to sign up for Rate Beer. I love this strong IPA not just for the hops but the complex flavors: the sweet resin, the creamy body, the pine and citrus notes. Outstanding!
