Light citrus and earthy hop aroma. Murky golden brown body. Medium palate. The taste is very bitter with some malt--but not well balanced. The hop bitterness controls this beer too much. If you want a straight on hop attack--then this is your beer. OhioDad (2492) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - MAR 4, 2007
Bottle shared by moejuck and spector at Columbus tasting 6 - Pours amber with a short offwhite head. Aromas of bitter grapefruit and pine. Flavor is grapefruit, pine, some floral notes with underlying caramel malts. Seemed a little watery to me on the palate and a little unbalanced to the hoppy side.. kenb (1102) - Oregon, USA - FEB 19, 2008
12 oz bottle via Mys Swap 3.0 (Thanks dickinsonbeer!). This one pours a clear copper with an average size white head. Nose is orange, grapefruit, pine hoppiness. Tastes exactly like it smells, nothing more, nothing less. Very clean. Too clean in fact. I like my hops a bit chewier and with more resin. Body is light, carbonation medium. An ok DIPA. sleepylopes (318) - New York, USA - MAR 4, 2008
rotten pine aroma not much of a head. Tastes much better than it smells with pine and citrus. A little dry and a decent hop finish. Was looking for more. Juancho (239) - Georgia, USA - MAR 13, 2008

Very nice, rich amber/copper color. Very strong aromas of resiny hops, well balanced throughout with not a hint of the 8% alcohol.... very drinkable, it sneaks up on you afte a couple imperial pints....

Growler from Big Z’s, Huntington, NY. Pours an orange/brown with a small thick white head. Aroma predominantly of grapefruit, also some citrus, pine, and grassy hops. Flavor of bitter citrus hops, nice cookie malt. Very thick mouthfeel. For 8%, this is quite syrupy and hard to drink. I liked the aroma but the palate is too thick and muddies up the flavors. UPDATED: AUG 26, 2010 Cask at GBBF. Golden with a small white head. Intense hoppy aroma with pine, grapefruit and peach. Big and sweet malty flavour with fruity hops and medium bitterness. 7-3-7-3-13boto (2250) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - NOV 25, 2009
Bottle at RBESG 2010. Aroma is fruity, peach, pine and tobacco. Sweet flavour with pine hops and resinous bitterness.
Bottle: This one pours a clear, golden yellow color. There was a bit of a white head to it, that dropped off fairly quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma is pretty much all hops. Mainly grapefruit, with a hint of pine in the background. A bit light for an Imperial IPA. The taste is somewhat bitter, with some malts in the background. Medium bodied. I would classify this as an IPA, not an Imperial/Double IPA. Good when considered against other IPA’s, but it definitely pales when compared against other DIPA’s. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - DEC 3, 2009
Nice piney and resinous aroma. Pours a light orange, almost yellow. Nice malt backbone to it. Bit of alcohol bite to it as well. Not a West Coast DIPA but nice and hearty. tekhna (118) - California, USA - DEC 14, 2009
Malty sweet east coast DIPA. Meh. Lots of hops but not too bitter or complex, decent nose. Syrupy. A little undercarbed. Not a fan.
