Batch 1 (2008) and Batch 2 (2010) of Captain Lawrence’s Extra Gold aged in apple brandy barrels. There’s nothing quite likes Mom’s apple pie…But I am willing to bet this beer is pretty darn close. An American Tripel, dry-hoped with Amarillo hops and aged in Apple Brandy barrels from one of this country’s oldest distilleries. The tropical aroma of the hops and the delicate apple aroma from the barrels are a perfect match

Pours slightly hazy yellow with small white head. Smells fruity with with strong wood and booze. Taste is apple sweet, with tang, and brandy. Med-full bodied. Pretty dry after taste is fruity hops and alcohol. Interesting and strong brew.

On tap @ Blinds Tiger, the ’13 model. No head on this one. The beer itself is a cloudy deeper orange colored one, and it smells superb. Lots of cellar and wood up front. Musky apples, some apricot freshness. Really nice stuff. Wow, this was nice. Really aged gracely this. It has a nice oily texture in the mouth and as expected somewhat gentle in the carbonation department. It’s almost like a dry nutty cherry or a really dry aged white wine. Earthy and a little apple juice sweet. No alcohol detected at all. Superb. 16.06.2017

Cloudy gold, covering lace. Full body, moderate flavor, little heat or carbonation, refreshing mouthfeel, short length. Mildly sweet, light bitter and crisp background. Monochromatic and weak flavor, some hop, could be apple or any other fruit character. Refreshing and harmless but disappointing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smells of apple and plenty of brandy like VSOP. Golden pour without much head. Some coriander. Smells better than it finishes. Like apples but finishes very boozy. Tap at Pizzeria Paradiso

2016/04/18 - Pours a hazy yellow honey colour with a foamy, off white head that slowly reduces and leaves moderate lacing. Aroma is apple, tart citrus, cereal grain, wood and floral hops. Taste is apple, oak, cereal, citrusy-floral hops and alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium and slightly chewy with smooth carbonation and a juicy, warming finish. Interesting beer with just enough apple. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Single bottle from Coastal in Branford CT. Poured into a stem glass. A cloudy light orange with a frothy off white head. Flavor is fruity and boozy - in a good way. Nice tart and sweet apple. Earthy-spice citrus hop profile perfectly balances the whole thing. Very nice take on this style.

12 oz. Bottle, thanks to Matt B! Clear is a hazy orange color, very thin white head. Aroma shows mild oak, hints of apples, notes of sugar.

The barrel treatment adds a low apple Brandy to enhance the triple base. The body is pretty good, fuller side of medium, kind of a yeasty chewy texture. The booze is noticeable in the finish. A sipper without a doubt and the booze slows the sipping down to a crawl halfway through.

Poured from 12oz bottle 11/24/15 batch nice golden color with a effervescent white head. Aromas of apple hop wood and alcohol. Taste is apple silky mouth feel with a nice alcohol finish. Well done.

Pretty unique tripel on draft at Union Jacks. The beer poured a bright and clear light gold color with a small white head. The nose was full of apples, light hops, grapefruit and wood. The flavors followed suit, with plenty of apples to spare. There was also some nice flowery hops and yeast flavors for balance. Really good tripel!

Maybe my taste buds just aren’t ready for this one yet. Definitely very flavorful. I just found it way too sweet and tart. A little too "apply" if you will. I just.. didn’t like it that much.. Not much else to say about it

Bottle thnx to Rob. Pours unclear blonde, small white head. Smell is sharp, grains, some very mild booze. Taste is full, bit bitter in the beginning, directly overtaken by a full apple ( not chemical, really natural ) aspect, as well as some oak. Very decent MF and carbo. The sweetness is perfectly in balance with the boitterness and the apple flavor. Best apple beer to date
