Had it on tap the other night. There are some nice flavors, but unfortunately they are masked by just as many off flavors. The beer is too bitter for its own good. jredmond (8204) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 12, 2008
Draft at House of Brews. Very good. Pours slightly cloudy golden body. Aroma is like a lesser Fin du Monde. Taste is citrus, malt, and very smooth. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - JUN 12, 2008
Draft at CL. Pours a golden body with a light white head. Feels kinda sticky with a sweet malty aroma and some hop bitterness. Some earthy grassy flavors amongst the malt, a touch of citrus fruit as well. A solid choice whenever you at the brewery. TeamTrappist (832) - jericho, New York, USA - JUN 10, 2008
On tap. Poured a slightly cloudy blond color. The aroma hinted of pears and malt to me. Thin mouthful, almost watery, which definitely detracted from the flavor for me. Has some nice belgian style notes in the finish, with some bitterness. Maybe I got a bad pour, and need another try, might re-rate at some point. malrubius (2858) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - JUN 7, 2008
On tap at the brewery. Bright golden with slight haze, lasting white head and lace. Herbal spicy yeasty aroma. Peach/apricot/banana sweet fruitiness with spicy herbal finish. Medium body and carbo. Complex and quaffable, but not wimpy. The addition of hoopy harbalness makes for a satisfying session belgian blonde.

From a growler filled at Whole Foods: pours a hazy golden color with a trace of white head, aroma of spices and citrus, taste is about the same. Wasn’t as great to me as some of the other Captain Lawrence brews I’ve had. rds (230) - USA - MAY 24, 2008
Surprisingly flavorful, golden bodied brew, with a hint of citrus. Very satisfying. don’t let the lager look fool you--this is one fine brew. mreusch (851) - Olathe, Kansas, USA - MAY 17, 2008
A growler that’s been untouched for far too long, with thanks to john_adam2002 for this most excellent bonus. Worried if there’s any carbonation left, but thought I might as well try it. Filled to the top and sealed, been sitting at the back of the fridge for weeks, so here goes. Pours a clear golden with a one finger bright white head and lots of effervescent bubbles rising, so that’s a good sign, lots of spots of lace. Aroma is bright and spicy, with coriander, orange peel, and some light citrus hops. Flavor is also spicy, with some sweet citrus. A good interplay with the spice, citrus and sweet. Enjoyable and tasty on a warm day, and held up very well; thanks again Adam! bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAY 3, 2008
(Hand bottled) Pours a lightly hazy golden body with a small white head. Aroma of coriander, floral, clove, biscuit, and orange. Flavor of coriander, candi sugar, orange peel, grass, and herbs. vyvvy (6392) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - MAY 1, 2008
On tap at a nice burger shop in NYC. Pours golden with a soapy white head. The aroma has pineapple fruitness and belgium yeast ~ comes across quite clean and lightly sweet. Medium body that has fairly gentle carbonation. The flavor starts with some thick wit-like traits due to the rich wheat like traits, some citrus and spice. There is more heartiness than a wit and some tropical fruit flavors. The finish is very hearty and yeasty. A nice tasty brew.
