Many thanks to psprings for splitting this one over the holidays. Pours a roasted black color with a trim tan head. Smells of toasted malts, tart apples, and wood. Tastes of each with added notes of coffee, sour apples, and mineral. The best of the series, but that’s kind of like winning a Reality TV Show on MTV.
Boozy, sight ripe red delicious scent with toasted malts and fresh pie sugars in aroma. Color is thick black with brown undertones. Tastes burnt malts, booze, brandy. Palate is thick and velvety. Tap Jayb0 (1194) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - SEP 16, 2015
Draft. This was excellent. The Apple Brandy character was strong and appreciated, offering uncommon barrel flavors that worked perfectly with the beer. Rich and satisfying, smoky and slightly sweet, very drinkable. DocLock (10646) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 1, 2014
Bottle. Pours dark blackish brown with tan head. Nose was dark malt, roasty, smoky, mild brandy and apple notes, cacao, anise. Tastes complex, with all the flavors from the nose. Great. BrewBoxer (2632) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 8, 2014

Pitch black, thin grey lace. Oak, dark smokey, of the malty kind, vanilla. Nice funk, that’s much stronger on the nose. Really well developed. Interesting, concentrated, bit expensive. (On tap at Blind Tiger)

Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Boozy up front, with lightly roasted malts, light sweetness, and whiskey/brandy like notes. A bit to strong of a barrel presence, but still pretty good. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - DEC 22, 2013

Draft. Deep brown body, frothy tan head, lasting. Aroma of roasted malts, wood, smoke, tobacco. Hint of overripe fruit and brandy. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, smooth texture, moderate carbonation. Taste of vanilla, caramel, brandy, wood, roasted malt bitterness, but none of it overwhelming. A bit sweet and a bit acidic. jbeatty (1246) - New York, USA - NOV 21, 2013
Growler from Beer Table Pantry, 11/21/2013. Pours black, hazy white head swirls on the surface, soapy ring of lacing around the glass. Aroma is glazed apple caramel, light fudge, tobacco and sweet barrel elements, pleasant smoky background blends well. Taste is mildly sweet caramel toffee, vanilla, middle has dark roasted malts, bitter coffee, round smoky apple brandy finish. Medium body, full and chewy in the mouth, Delicious.
