3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark brown with a huge foamy off-white head. Aroma is hugely oaky, and the rum is definitely present. Vanilla. Underneath that you have the typical roasted-malt porter characteristics. Smoke is there, but really subtle. Flavor is more smoky than you’d expect from the aroma though... smoky beers always remind me of ham, ha. Nice though. Seems a little sour... it’s hard to tell if it truly is sour (I’ve had so many sour beers lately that it’s possible the oak just sets off that "sour" signal in my brain?) Leaves a bitter taste on the tongue. This is actually a little bland, the flavor leaves something to be desired. For the huge effort that seems to have gone into this, I think it could be a lot better.
Bottle At The Carnival Tasting Ulfborg Denmark 2015-02-28. Black beer with a beige head. Malty, rum. oak aroma with Cherry notes. Sweet licorice, fruity and Woody flavour. Love the smokey notes. Really a nice beer :-) Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - SEP 16, 2014
Brown pour with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of smoke as well as some light rum notes. The flavor is full of smoke and ash, with quite a bit of chocolate. As the beer warms the sweet rum notes begin to show up. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice beer. Errl (2577) - Plano, Texas, USA - AUG 28, 2014

Bottle shared by HoppasaurusRex, thanks for the opportunity Todd
Opened over the sink and the bottle proceeded to pour itself. Dark brown/black color with a huge never ending tan head. Aromas of tart cherry with hints of chocolate and dark sugary rum notes. A hint of oxidation and a touch of earth. The flavor is tart with a lactic twang. Fleeting caramel and roasted notes with a bit of woody vanillin round out the flavor. Light body with a bubbly tart mouthfeel, and a moderate to high level of carbonation. Infected, but not horrible to drink. DocLock (11189) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Shared bottle procured from a friend. Pours hazy dark blackish with tan head. Nose is oaky rauchy rum, prune, brown sugar, dark fruit. Tastes oaky, with charred rauchy malt notes, rum, molasses, dark fruit, and a complex finish. This one is delicious.

Bottle @ JetsonFest III in KC. Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. Anise, moderately woody smoked, slightly tangy aroma. Fairly high carbonated, a bit red fruity, herbal/woody, spicy rum, light vanilla flavor with some tanginess on the finish. Carbonation is very high. dogfishho (669) - Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Pours thin but black with a thin head. On the nose there are notes of smoke some charcoal some sweetness and some chocolate and coffee. On the palate the sweetness is mostly cut by the smokiness. Yum!

Bottle from tap room. Pours black with an inch of khaki foam. Prominent rum notes on the nose and the tongue. Didn’t get much of the smoked porter action. Finish lingers a bit. Solid. magsinva (1493) - Virginia, USA - APR 14, 2013
Bottle - pours cola with quite a bit of white head. Aroma is big, dominated by the rum and smoke. Taste is sweet with the bite of the alcohol on the finish. Solid.
