Bottle thanks to BroIPA. Pours deep brown, fluffy tan head. Aroma is light smoke, roast, dark fruit. Taste is heavy on the licorice, a bit too much so for my taste. Roasted, almost burned malt, coffee, burned sugar. That’s bit of theme...more burned than smoky here. jcos (1851) - Maryland, USA - AUG 28, 2013

Appearance: Pours a black opaque with light white head..
Aroma: Aroma of smoked malt, faint roast..
Taste: Smokey, light roast, faint coffee, light sweet.
Palate:Light body, short aftertaste.
Summary: I haven’t had a porter this summer, but this was a nice treat. I enjoy smoke in beers, and there was plenty present here. Nice beer.
Poured from the bottle into a tulip. Pours coffee black with white head. Aroma of tobacco, earth and smoke. Taste is definitely smoky/ashy. Unfortunately that’s it. Ash taste continues to linger. Pretty harsh beer. Beerenberger (1605) - Fischer, Texas, USA - JUL 25, 2013
Smoke, roasted malts on the aroma also with hints of dark fruit. A solid black with a finger width, quickly disappearing, khakie head with no lacing. Beginning with smoke and moving to roasted malts in the middle. Dark fruit notes in the finish and more smoke, some biscuit, and bitterness present in the aftertaste. Medium-full body with medium carbonation. Overall, this is an excellant smoked porter! Robust flavors while being very drinkable. Inbreak (6068) - Loddefjord, NORWAY - JUL 25, 2013

Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is smoke, dark malts, salty licorice, grass, coffee, ham. Taste is slightly sweet, smoked dark malts, dark sugar, licorice, grass, sour coffee, hops. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel, thin body. Not bad, but some aging would probably be good for this one.
Tap at brewery. Dark pour with minimal head. Bacon, bandaid, sweat, leather and coffee. Complex. Good carbonation with medium body and depth

very dark brown color, pretty much opaque unless you shine a bright light past it -- and if you do, there’s a slight red tint deep in the dark brown color. thick healthy off white, light tan head. a rich malty/smokey and roasty aroma, with some yeast esters coming through. very nice balance of smoke flavor with roast malt flavor, and some bitterness sneaking out. there’s a slight tang in the finish, leading to a pleasant, not-too-assertive smoke malt flavor mellowing in the aftertaste. jkwood04 (5448) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 10, 2013
500ml bottle in a bulb. Pours near black with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of smoked malts, some roasted and light coffee notes, hints of fruits, and a little bitterness. Flavor the same with the smoked malts dominating all else. Average texture. A decent beer. reggiedunlop (3725) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 17, 2013
pours brown with a huge tan head...nice lacing and retention. aroma is lightly smoked. flavor has tootsie roll and smoky band aid...meh. mouthfeel is light and the finish is boring smokiness. i hoped for more from this. BVery (10510) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JUN 9, 2013
Tap at Blue Smoke at JFK. Dark pour with deep reddish highlights. Big foamy head. Smokey and chocolate. Delicious.
