A typical dubbel, this one is nothing spectacular but it’s not disappointing either.
2/17/2011 9:00:03 AM Bottle from Bierkoning. Hazy orange body with a big head. Nose of fruits, caramel and yeast. Taste is malty but really sweet and fruity. Not at all what I was expecting. Lots of caramel in a syrupy texture. Good. Stuu666 (13394) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 7, 2014
Bottle at Craig’s. Pours deep amber, nose and taste is sweet, malty, raisins. Hansen (8595) - Assentoft, DENMARK - AUG 18, 2014
Dark amber coloured and with an off-white head, medium duration. Sweet roasted aroma, hazel-nuts. Torrefacto (1675) - Madrid, SPAIN - AUG 8, 2014
Bastante bien. Tonkun (1296) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 2, 2014
Bottle. Cola pour with a big off white head that dissipated quickest. Chocolate, charcoal, raisin, hop. Medium body. Good carbonation. Perfect slightly acidic and sweet finish. Very nice

Bottle shared tonight by Dr Rob, thanks for the opportunity! Fruity caramel and brown sugar with a hint of chocolate offset with yeasty earthy flavors. This is a nice dubbel. angel77 (3366) - oviedo, SPAIN - MAY 23, 2014
Botella de 65 cl en el lúpulo en septiembre de 2013. color oscuro casi negro con sabores y aromas maltosos, ligeramente dulces y algo tostados. Cuerpo medio. Tipo belga doble total. Normal, tal vez demasiado dulzona. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 12, 2014
This one poured a lighter brown color with a beig head. Aroma was of caramel, dark fruits and belgian yeast. Falvor was the same, moderately spicey, toast, caramel and dark fruits. Ok. sulphursouls (42) - SWITZERLAND - APR 28, 2014
This is a Belgian Style Abbey Ale or more accurately said, an attempt at one. The head was off white and rather small, and the look was a cloudy dark brown. The aroma was of sour hops. The taste was creamy (a tick on the Abbey Ale style inspection), with some caramel and a tiny amount of roasted coffee. It finished with a light sourness and there was pretty much no aftertaste. Not bad. SudsMcDuff (8428) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - DEC 10, 2013
i can’t remember the last time time i had a Capt Lawrence beer that wasn’t over carbed, so this was a treat! .. . pours a deep molasses brown .. . mild headring, light lacing .. . bread, woody, plums, and cooked pear skin .. . light mouth .. . tasty beer, the abv is well masked as well .. . . Your heart stops when you sneeze. It doesn’t. That’s called cardiac arrest.
