Bottle, from Half Time beverage. Good aroma,.sweet. little yeasty spice. Soft orange, citrus. Toasty wheat. Tad hazed yellow golden color. Bitter sweet Flavor. Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Nice, certainly not a.classic wit. Label says hoppy wheat beer. Don’t see it listed on the Captain Lawrence website. vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - DEC 30, 2010
Draft @ RnH during Mikkeller event. Golden orange pour with some white head. Orange, some light spice, wheat, almost a brett light touch. Decent for what it is. Nickls (2540) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - JUN 4, 2010
(Old BA rate - tap)
frothy generous white head that held well; hazier, brighter light yellow color. Wheaty and yeasty; some spiciness; light fruitiness and some bananas. Touch of tart ripe fruit; mellows to a sweeter/spicier flavor, banana shows up a gain Lighter, but still a good body; nice carbonation; dry chalky finish. Nice drinking; refreshing and interesting enough. Overall, a decent summertime brew.

Growler filled at the Flaming Fury release party.
Appearance: Cloudy pale straw body with minimal white crown that rapidly dissipates and shows little lace.
Smell: wheat and a muted orange/lemon/herbal note.
Taste: same as smell. the finish is sweeter than the amount of wheat tartness in the nose led me to assume it would be.
Mouthfeel: on the light side of medium bodied...fairly appropriate for the style. Moderate amount of carbonation makes it moderately enjoyable.
Drinkability: Quite sessionable
Not an amazing example of the style but good for an American attempt and a beer I’d love to have at any local bbq.
Serving type: growler

Pours a hazy, slightly dim yellow with fluffy white head. Aroma of banana, lemon, and wheat. Starts out with a good balance of banana, clove, and a bit of hops, but then... what’s this? Very odd finish. On first sip, I couldn’t tell if it tasted of sour fruit, metal, or sunblock. I settled on metal, and it lingers a surprising amount. Overcasts everything good about the beer. Perhaps I got a tainted cup. I’d be willing to try again.

On tap at a restaurant on the Hudson River that I can’t remember. Pours with 3 fingers of head. The color is a golden, creamy orange/gold. Lots of carbonation. Taste is of orange and lemon. I was surprised how creamy this beer was. It actually seemed more like a Hefe than a Wit. Either way it was smooth and extremely drinkable with a great taste. Excellent beer... if only Captain Lawrence would distribute in PA! j12601 (12673) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUN 21, 2009
On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy glowing golden yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of clove, bananas, and coriander. Medium thick body. Spicy with a bit of medicinal mint quality and some light bubblegum. malrubius (2927) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - JUN 14, 2009
On tap at brewery. Pale opaque orange with lasting head and lace. Very strong coriander aroma with some orange peel. Strong spicy taste with some citrus and wheat tang. Lingering spicy mouthcoating. Refreshing light body and nice soft mouthfeel. Pretty good. A little heavy on the coriander. DeadGirl (478) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 14, 2009
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2009 On draught at Rattle N Hum (NYC): A soapy finish was all I could taste amongst an ultimately watery feel. Not a fan. #007 on 14062009, DG. dchmela (3074) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 6, 2009
Growler courtesy Maltajo. Pours a light yellow with a thick frothy head. Lemon and coriander, malt aroma. Taste is light crisp malt with touches of spices, lemon, yeats. A nice light refreshing brew and was great to drink while in the pool on a hot day.
