Poured draught at local craft beer pub. Much more of a hoppy flavor w a bit of malt. Have had better winter beers.

On tap. It poured an orange color with a white head. The aroma was of malts, spices, fruits, and a touch of sweetness. (Bottle). Compliments of Mark. Slightly hazy, amber complexion with thin quickly dissipating head. Mild malty aroma. The flavor is German malts, lightly toasted with a peppery finish.

355ml bottle. Clear copper in colour with a very thin white head, light lacing. The aroma is of sweet fruits, grains, some caramel malts, apples. The flavour is of light spice, dark fruits, some sweet malts. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, grainy and sweet. bottled - very nice reddish amber color. Pretty good slightly sweet flavor (but not over the top). Malt and slight spice finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-caramel color with a huge fluffy orange-white head taht lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was art and crisp fruit - raisin, cherry and pear. The flavor was sour caramel, tobacco, pear, a bit of fig, vague spices, yeast and an underlying bitterness. Medium length finish. Bottle. Nose is very malty, toasty Vienna character with a few darker touches, some toffee and lots of spice and earth. Touch buttery, some chocolate and peanut brittle-like caramel. Very inviting appetizer, sort of a small Doppelbock using hybrid yeast. Hazy amber-brown with fizz and a tan head. Taste very malty, spicy with floral and light berry notes. Again, toast, caramel, and earth, and all blending together nicely. The winter character of the spices is not in touch, a mild stroke of sort of juniper-spruce, but beyond there there’s some background flavor that would fit in very nicely in pumpkin season (gather up the usual suspects). No alcohol, full and very heavy body, and the aftertaste reminds of cola, which is about the only negative I have to offer. Interesting and worthy of a try (if only for a supremely malty holiday beer that doesn’t overspice).
