Oddly I think of this as a stronger boddingtons, I buy it from bargain booze 4 cans £4, allow it to be fully chilled & poured into a glass I also like to sit on the couch wearing just my underpants whilst watching the telly & eating pringles but this serving suggestion is optional

Keg pint at the Station Pub, Castleford. Golden colour, creamy white head. Weak aroma, but not offensive. Smooth mouthfeel. Refreshing clean flavour, fairly dry, but the hops are too moderate. Still not nearly as bad as I feared.

On keg at Lincoln United Football Club Bar - Clear gold, lasting white head. Looks great, but then it is just foamy Carling. Weird mouthfeel.

Most people who have commented have never really tried this beer. Unless fully chilled correctly it should not be drunk at all, and never from a can!! The beer needs to be put in a glass to be appreciated, either from a can, or better still on draft when you can find it. This is a Premium beer and miles away from the usual lager rubbish on sale. Never mind all the nonsense about it tasting like everything unreal in the World, it is a damn good beer, and trust me, it has a kick which can creep upon you if you are used to drinking pedestrian concoctions. Simply do yourself a favour, get some and drink it properly, it will not disappoint!!

A fairly average lager, better than the standard Carling, but suffers from being too watery. Looks: Big creamy head, pale transparent yellow colour. Nose: not much going on - some grass, light hops and weird sour notes. Taste: light grain, straw, hops, sweet honey on the aftertaste. It’s OK, but nothing special.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2016 beter dan de convectie-pils maar smaak ontbreekt, veredelt water met licht vage mout en bitter toontjes

Can shared at Leighton’s. As ’Carling Premier’, 4.7% BB June 2016. Clear yellow, still, big foamy white head. Aroma is corny, cardboard, airy. Crap. Body is medium to light, smooth, light carbonation. Taste is light and watery, corny, cardboard, a hint of malt, watery finish with no real bitterness. Well it doesn’t quite reach the heights of crapness that normal Carling achieves. But it’s still watery and awful.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2016 Can thanks to Dirty Danny. It pours clear rich gold with a small off-white head. The nose is toasty cheap grain, buttered cheap white bread, grain husk, oily, fatty and generic sweetness. The taste is slick, sweet, oily, buttered white bread and burnt plastic, dirty grass with a short, sweetish finish. Medium body, average carbonation and creamy mouth - feel. Fucken fuck.

Can shared in London - many thanks to Daniel. Pours crystal clear gold with a thick, creamy white head. Cheap cereal in the nose, some grain, dough. Light to medium sweet flavor with hints of paper, more cereal, white sugar, grain, low bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with notes of cereal, crackers, paper, sugar. Pretty classic macro pale lager.

Can ... split at Bespin towers, thanks to very soiled Danny, 21/01/16. Clear golden with a well appointed off white covering that retains well. Nose is pale malt, straw, grain, papery notes. Taste comprises much the same, straw, grain, pale malt, papery licks, trace of vanilla. Medium bodied, smooth and massaging on the palate. wooha !
