4.5% bottle from The Porterage Wine Merchant, Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbira. Pale golden coloured with a thin white head. It has a toffee, malty and earthy flavour followed by peppery hops on the smooth finish. Not bad.

Bottle at The Dog Beck, Penrith, Cumbria. 4.5% abv. Pours pale gold with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy, floral, and caramel. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Light to medium body, slightly watery texture, average to soft carbonation.

[ As Carlisle Flaxen ].
Clear medium amber orange color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, apple. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, caramel - toasted, apple. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141202]

Appearance - golden with a decent head.
Nose - biscuit and lemon.
Taste - more of the same.
Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish.
Overall - solid if unexciting.

Appearance: Pours clear and golden with a minimal white head.
Aroma: Fruity, caramel, malty, biscuit.
Taste: Medium bitterness, malty, biscuits.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, medium carbonation, crisp and clean.
Overall: Pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. Would definitely have another.
