Reddish brown in color with some head. Malty and earthy aromas followed by malty and smoky flavors. A tad bitter in the finish. fishman (350) - Philadelphia, USA - JUL 22, 2001
I had this on tap at a local bar and was told it was 'like Newcastle', not only is it like Newcastle, its a virtual clone of Newcastle. Great red-brown color, thin creamy head. Light mouthfeel, slightly nutty and malty. Finishes of a bit dry and smokey, and not as bland as Newcastle, worth a try to compare the two. Delbomber (387) - Philadelphia, USA - JUL 20, 2001
Dark brown with red tint, with very little head. Fairly light bodied, nutty, with a fairly bitter, dry finish. Like Newcastle, there's not much taste or aroma. Oakes (19549) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 23, 2001
Dark chestnut colour; nutty flavours, and earthy malt, drying out to a smoky finish. PhillyBeer2112 (2940) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - APR 17, 2001
Deep dark red color, with a thin white head. Modest to no aroma, hinting at hops. Relatively light bodied, very dry, and medium bitter. Not sweet in the least - very little detectable malt profile. Slight metallic bitterness in the aftertaste.
