COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout has a robust flavour with a ful bodied and smooth mouth feel. The roast flavours lead to a dry espresso like finish. A generous addition of fuggles hops lead to a tart bitterness which mingles with the roast espresso flavours on the tongue.

Wood, caramel and chocolate in a big malty nose. Awesome, super dark brown pour with a frothy, off-white head and strong lacing. Creamy, balanced and soft. Taste starts sweet (and sticky) and ends with a hint of dry hops which is short-lived as a roasted caramel sensation dominates. Minimal carbonation noticed. Easy to drink, this is probably a good introduction to stouts for those hop-heads that have not ventured to the dark side.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a beautiful black color with a nice 1.5 finger width tan head. It had a dark mahogony tint around the edges when held up to the light. The aroma was a bit bland for a stout, but there were nice hints of dark chocolate and coffee. The taste consisted of a lot of bitter dark chocolate with hints of coffee. The mouthfeel was very light... I think this would be a lot better if it was a bit thicker. Overall a very drinkable and refreshing stout.

The bottle poured deep dark coffee color with about an inch and a half of tan/orange head, dissipating. Aroma could be described as bourbon-like, mild chocolate notes. The flavor is a nice blend of bittering hops and bitter roast, but it’s thin. It tastes fine, but not quite stout enough for my expectation.

Black with small white head. Nose and Flavor with roast bitterness and hints of sweet chocolate. The texture is odd, semi-milk and smooth but thin.

ABV: 4.3% RateBeer rating: 72 Calories: estimated at 140 C Volume: 12 fl oz Glass: 6 oz wine Purchased at: Gift from Sean P. (thanks!) Price: part of a trade Consumed at: home First Impression: Good color, nice head, aroma is soft and fleeting, taste is on the watery side. I prefer bolder stouts. Visuals are likely the best aspect - quite dark - good ruby depth and tan head. Taste is similar to water. Palate is fairly numb. Second Impression: Great visuals in head, body and lacing, but just pleasant in taste. Aroma: 4 out of 10 Visuals: 5 out of 5 Taste: 4 out of 10 Palate: 1 out of 5 Overall: 13 out of 20

Tap.Black with creamy white head. Nice combination of roasted, toasted and resinous hoppiness, mingling with no edges and without being exaggerated. Dry and bitter end.

Bottle, from the supermarket. Close my eyes and it tastes like a guiness. Not bad, but not that innovative. Quite a dry, taste with no detaours into alc. taste , sweet , fruity, sour.. so it’s a bit dull. But good at what it tries to be. You can take a pint of this one instead of guinness at the pub, and all is well, but you will not get a rememberable experience. Probably the first guinness-wannabe that i find a serious contestant for my next pint of guinness.
