COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout has a robust flavour with a ful bodied and smooth mouth feel. The roast flavours lead to a dry espresso like finish. A generous addition of fuggles hops lead to a tart bitterness which mingles with the roast espresso flavours on the tongue.

0,33 l bottle. Great "stoutish" appearance - opaque black color, long - lasting, creamy brown head. The taste is not that good, the fine roasted malt and dark chocolate aromas are spoiled by an unpleasant bitter, acidic finish. The aftertaste is also acidic and dry. Fine, but i expected much more.

Bottle: Poured a thick motor oil black brown with a thin edge filling beige head. Aroma is sweet with licorice and coffee. Taste roasted coffee with a bitter tingle to the tip of the tongue.

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2008 Bottle. Label says "O´Hara´s Irish Stout".
Almost pitch black color with a brown head. Aroma of roasted/burned malt, coffee, licorice and grain. Taste of rosted/burned malt, licorice, coffee, bitter hops, charcoal, and lightly sourish notes. Dry finish.

50cl bottle from my Irish buddy; Garthicus! Nose of chocolate, roasted coffee, and an oatmeal cereal note; black with brown edges and a big, glass-lacing beige head; flavor is coffee, chocolate, a little white pepperiness, and a smidgeon of hop bitterness; finish is coffee and a bit of bitterness.

Pours black with large tan head. Aromas of grassy hops, and chocolate malt with some coffee as well. Not overly roasty, but interesting. Flavor is quite roasty with a dash of hop bittering. Flavors are not pronounced or robust, but meld together nicely. Palate is quite thin, almost watery- disappointing. Would make a good session stout.

Archibaldo de la Cruz (1120) - FINLAND - JUL 28, 2008
Dark brown colour, almost black with a brown head. The aroma is roasted malt. The flavour is roasted malt with hints of hops, smoke and coffee. Medium-bodied beer with dry and bitter aftertaste. Not my favourite stout but still quite nice.
