Sampled on 11/29/2006 at the November meeting of the Junedale Beer Klub. Brought by Tman...
Black with a creamy tan head. Lots of roast/char character in the flavor and dark bitter chocolate. Has a very dry finish with a moderate level of bitterness. Thin to medium body. Actually tasted a bit better than the Guinness Extra Stout that was sampled earlier during this tasting meeting! pubbe (493) - Højbjerg, DENMARK - DEC 10, 2006
Bottle. Dark brown with light brown diminishing head. Aroma offers burnt malt, tar and bitter chocolate. Chocolate and hops in the flavor. Nice long finish with soothing bitterness. Well made stout, which seems to lack some alcohol to balance the chocolate though. Quevillon (3159) - Boisbriand, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 7, 2006
Bouteille de 500 ml. Pure noir, bon collet avec de la dentel. Arome de malte roti simple mais bien. Goût assez sec, amère. Bien pour son style. ukoolaid (580) - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 1, 2006
On tap @ Anam Cara. Pours a dead black with creamy tan head. Aroma is very mild. Taste has a bit of roasted chocolate. Dry and bitter with very creamy mouthfeel. As basic dry stouts go this is pretty good. Take THAT Guinness. bubbleflubber (2235) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - NOV 29, 2006
Pours opaque black into the glass with a diminished tan head leaving webbed lace. The nose is of roasted grains. Dry roasted flavor.... emphasis on dry. There is a slightly hopped roasted finish, as the description says... "roast bite". As it is dry, not much effervescence here. Some coffee (grounds?), and smoky grains noted. The mouthfeel is full-bodied but lightly crisp at the same time. As stouts go, it’s not my favorite style, but my palate allows me to appreciate the offering.

Very nice, I liked it. A nice bitter stout, creamy, yummy, yums. Drink this stout. Drink it up. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2006
There is no denying that this looked excellent in the glass. Aroma gives roasted bitter burnt coffee malts, some dark chocolate if you serch for long enough. Taste is again as one dimentional as the aroma. raymondwave (931) - FINLAND - NOV 23, 2006
You can get this from quite a few supermarkets in Finland, thanks to it’s low alcohol percentage (less than 4.6%). As a stout it’s good, full and rich for it’s alcohol. It’s nice to have a carbonated stout once in a while (bottle). after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - NOV 21, 2006
12-oz. Jet black with a big thick sudsy tan head that falls away to nothing. Plenty of sticky sudsy lace. Mild chocolatey, sour-ish nose. Neutral attack; medium body and light carb. Huge sour chalky finish, total non-sequitur after the mildness of the rest of the beer. Even by dry stout standards this is too astringent and raspy at the end.
