COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
True to it’s name, “Leann Folláin” being the Gaelic for “wholesome stout”, our full-bodied extra Irish stout is a fantastic example of how good stout can taste. Flavours of dark chocolate tones with a hint of vanilla combine with the mild mocha aroma. Opaque black in appearance with a tan head, this luxurious stout has a classic European hop bitterness giving a refreshing bite after the chocolate subsides.

500ml bottle, 6%. An excellent full-bodied heart-warming stout. Pours black with limited dark brown head. Sweet and strong lightly carbonated with some roasted coffee and hops in the flavour. More please!

Pitch black with tan head of foam. I smell roasted malt that comes across as very dry and somewhat bitter. There is chocolate too and that adds sweet notes. Tastes like it smells. Roasty, sweet chocolate, dry bitterness from coffee. Very tasty. Smooth mouthfeel. I had not even heard of this brew. What a pleasant surprise!

Bottle from Cellar Door. Pours brown/black with single finger off white head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, molasses, some sweetness. Taste of some coffee, dark chocolate, sugary sweetness, caramel, toffee, bitterness from coffee all the way through, nice carbonation, quite chewy. Grand!

koshack (1807) - Gdañsk, POLAND - JAN 9, 2016
Czarne, nieprzejrzyste. Piana drobna, brązowa, dość obfita. Aromat kawowy, wytrawny.

badgerben (5178) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - MAR 29, 2016
Black color with a tall head. Strong espresso and cocoa aroma. Sharp, bitter chocolate taste. Barley and coffee notes. Light fruity esters towards finish. Dry, slightly bitter. Really nice.

Scrumpy369 (802) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUL 29, 2016
Bottle in Ireland. Black colour, with a small light brown head that disappears fast. Nose is light roasted malts, definite coffee. Taste is low roasted malty bitterness. Finish of chocolate powder and coffee. Low carbonation, but wouldn’t wish for more, as it makes the mouth feel very smooth. Nice.

blackisle (2582) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - JUL 6, 2017
Bottle 33cl. poured into an English pint. Pitch black, tall macropore creamy tan head, dissipates slowly, heavy lacing; aroma roasted malts, cocoa, licorice; smooth taste, medium sweet and bitter, roasted malts, chocolate, light vanilla, dark bread, coffee; sweetbitter aftertaste, chocolate, roasty and earthy notes; medium body, watery to oily texture, average carbonation; excellent classic dry stout, very rich and tasty indeed.
