A danish, brown bock with low creamy head. Aroma is very malty, caramel, roasted, light prune, light liqourice. Taste is bitter sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rigtig spændende bock med en god smag og eftersmag af valnød. Imponeret over at Carl's endelig har turdet lave en øl, der skiller sig ud og rigtig smager af noget. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Brugsen, Copenhagen - dark amber pour with off white to beige head. Aroma and taste is bready malty, with some caramel, fudge, pretty sweet some grassy hoppy backing. ---Sent via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Carls bock smells only of little caramel malt, but the taste is really quite good. Slightly burnt caramel notes like exactly the malt sweetness as bocks must have, and a moderate hoppy bitterness makes the sweetness not too violent. Small spicy shades are also included in the taste. Carls bock’s quality is consistent with price.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2012 280112: sweet and malty beer with alcohol character. not as strong as the typical German bocks. a burnt caramel flavors emerge as it warms. it becomes a bit more interesting by over 10 degrees..

Bottle. Pours a clear, golden amber with a diminishing beige/yellowish head. Sweet, malty aroma; dark fruits and a slight cereal overtone. Dusty notes as it warms. Pretty decent, but a bit cloying. Flavour is sweet and malty as well, with a plastic overtone and a bitterness lurking in the back. Feels a bit watery. As it warms, a distinct metallic note appears, as well as alcohol and cereals, bordering on the grainy. Malty and sweet liquorice finish with lingering tart and cereal notes, and a whiff of alcohol. Overall not bad, but nothing special either. 31.12.11.

Bottled 330ml (Testöl #2, BB 02/2012)
Deep amber, small off-white head. Caramelly, a bit grassy and papery aroma. Medium-bodied. Caramelly, grassy flavor, toasted malty backbone. Slightly too industrial flavor, although clean product.

Bottled (thanks Papsoe!). Deep amber, close to copper colour, with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is bready and caramel malty with some mild crystal notes as well. Slight wooden and not-too-sweet syrupy notes as well. Flavour is nutty, wooden, caramel malty with some quite bitter wooden and resiny notes as well. Rather nicely balanced.

turbothy (1141) - Bonn, GERMANY - OCT 29, 2011
Pours brown with no head. Sweet, hvidtøl-like aroma which reappears in the flavour. This is unashamedly sweetened, and not in a good way. Has absolutely nothing to do with a real bock; this is just a lager beer with added colour and sugar.
