COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carlsberg Export has been 4.8% abv in the UK since January 2012

W aromacie stara skarpeta, szmata, bardzo zwietrzały. W smaku jest wręcz kwaśne, znów stara skarpeta i wręcz stęchlizna. I to z puszki. Ohyda!

440ml can. Pale yellow, small white head, quite effervescent. Relatively hoppy with straw notes, modest malt sweetness and a dash of lemon. The bitterness does well to hide the overbearing graininess of the standard Carlsberg. Medium carbonation, light body, on the watery side but has a decent length to the finish.

I’m in two minds about this. Usually export lagers brewed under licence don’t float the boat at all, but there was something about this that said to me "Yes, I’m an impostor and you know I am one, but actually I’m quite tasty as well. And it is in that spirit that I threw a Carlsberg back last Sunday night. Bright yellow in colour with obvious carbonation and a white head. Aromas of some sort of metallic hop and flavours of pale malt and the same. The one I drank would have been around 7-9 degrees and actually tasted like something I would want to have another of. So, yes. Well done.

330 ml bottle. Golden yellow with a white head. Malty with a hint of bitterness. The taste from the alcohol shines through a bit. Fairly well don for a mass produced eurolager.

500 ml can at abv 4.8% bought at 7-Eleven on Fu Hing Streeet, Shek Wu Hui, Sheung Shui.

Piss pale golden yellow colour; One and a half finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with fizzy slow carbonation; Fragrant aroma of bready malt, with floral, shades of pineapple, molasses, white bread, lemon and light grass; Light sweet taste of light malt, with soda, light floral, molasses notes, light bread, light lemon and thin bitter grassy hops; Close to light body. Quite thin and soapy palate; Mouth feel is light maltyness in a soapy soda-ish background. No adjunct and no off-taste, some light floral and faint yellow fruits. Very light sweetness, soggy bread and light lemon to round. Easy… Hoppiness is light floral, light lemon and thin grass in nose and taste; Bitterness is very low for an abrupt, very low astringent soda-ry finish; Slightly dry after taste. Easy and slightly bitter to mouth.

Comments: This is not as solid nor crisp as the flagship Carlsberg Lager. Except its soapyness and light malt, there’s really not much to rant about. Just an one-time easy drinking macro, no more no less.
