For my liking, stouts should be meaty with plenty of coffee/chcoloate/burnt malt flavours and aromas. This brew is very middle of the road. Somewhat sweet on the initial taste, but doesn’t blur into a bitter finish like expected.
A nice Australian stout. The Guinness of Australia. Cheers from Cannery Row Beer Club.

From old tasting notes. Deep dark brown color with a brownish tan head. Roasted chocolatey malt nose. Sweet roasted malt flavor is coffee-like and bitter. Good body. Burnt caramel finish is long and pleasing. Tasty and drinkable. Camons (13514) - Hasselager, DENMARK - MAR 9, 2017
Bottle, Blacktown, Australia. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, roast malt, bread, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, little licorice. Medium body, average carbonation, fairly dry finish. Surprisingly good. 090317 rondphoto (4508) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - AUG 4, 2016
bottle @ Keg Liquors / Clarksville IN --- Aroma of roasted malt. Opaque brown / black color, brown head that is slow to recede, lace cobwebs. Taste is smooth roasted malt in a creamy base. Mild carbonation, and more of the same through a medium length finish. Simple, yet effective as a common stout. gam (4139) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 24, 2016

Bottle @ RBSG 2015. Thanks, Ferris. Black in color with a big khaki head. Smells like a mix of cardboard and chocolate syrup. Sort of metallic and grassy as well. Hints of coffee grounds, roasted malt, and toasted bread. Doesn’t really taste much better, either. Sort of oxidized and cardboardy. Sweet, sugary chocolate sauce and caramel. Bitter metallic, roast, and coffee grounds finish. Ferris (17099) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 23, 2015

Clear dark brown with a medium sized tan head, good lacing. Aroma of dark malts and chocolate. Taste of dark malts, chocolate with a dry finish
Slumming it on the RBSG bus.
A: Black color with a creme colored head.
N: Cocoa, coffee, biscuit, some vanilla, and an ample amount of barley.
T: Bittersweet; well proportioned.
M: Medium body, foamy carbonation, no alcohol.
O: Solid stout. It sort of gets run over by the additives of the other beers, but I could see myself going back to this one more than once. It’s well done and drinkable. mcberko (19837) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 21, 2015
Bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out toasted malt and a doughy quality. Flavour is dull, with dry toasted malt and a stale quality. Pretty stale and lifeless. Bad.
