UPDATED: FEB 17, 2015 At the brewpub. Very nice mouth feel on the one. Cloudy and dark golden. Fruity for a lager. Serving: tap monkeychugg55 (1105) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - JUN 2, 2012
Dark golden-copper with a small head. The aroma has German caramel malt and with lager notes. The flavor is well balanced, with tasty malt and a touch of hops on the finish. Didn’t detect and warming on the finish, but enjoyed alot. nuplastikk (6421) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 3, 2010
Draft at the brewpub. Hazy, golden-tan. Thin, steady head. A really well crafted Heller-Bock. Full-bodied, with some spicy noble hops. Sweet and creamy, lots of fruity pungent lager tones. Remarkably true to style. Well done. Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - JUN 27, 2010
Came to the table a golden color with a dense, low, white head. Aroma has a mild fruity nose, light grainy but overall fairly plane. Flavor has a pretty sweet and fruity - mild green grape and apple, light graininess too it and a faint grassy hoppiness at the end. Modest body with a low carbonation. Overall a very solid maibock with great sweetness and solid fruitiness that fits the style well.
