Courtesy of Sebletitje. Thx! 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBSG II. Pours a blackish, very dark brown, quickly gone beige head. Nose is sweet chocolate, raisins, chocolate cornflakes, coffee, cocoa, dark fruits,… Taste is sweet chocolate and coffee, chocolate pie & truffles, dark malts, slightly warming, light toast and dark sugar,… Touch grainy body but very full. I didn’t particularly care for the regular one but this one is truly wonderful. Comes to show if the need or the desire were to arise, the big boys can do incredible work. sweet kokus aroma,golden/brown, light brown foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, soft carbonation, dry kokus finish. crossovert (12613) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 16, 2013
This is a much mroe subtle bourbon aged porter. The barrel is dominant. Lots of vanilla, oakiness, woodiness, and slight booze int he aroma. Flavor has bittersweet cocoa, boozy bourbon, and a nice tannic dryness. jackl (8011) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Bottle @ Bruce’s. The pour’s deep brown with a small head. The nose is pennies, overcooked brownie, ash, hints of balsamic vinegar tang. The taste is toffee, plums, prune. Earthy dark fruits. A bit of alcoholic chocolate dessert. Full body, oily. Overall, pretty flavorful stuff. Not bad. Scopey (14498) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 10, 2013
Bottle thanks to Bruce. It pours darkest brown with a thick beige head. The nose is roasted malt, treacle, cocoa, vanilla, oak, coconut, cola and faint oxidized notes. The taste is roasted malt, earth, toast, bitter chocolate, caramel, light-moderate bitterness, vanilla and coconut. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Not bad at all.

’Paul takes a brown shower’ tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Bruce. Clear dark brown beer. Little tan head. Smooth soft palate, a little dry. Nice soft chocolate but not that sweet. A little malt cream and mild bourbon biscuit. Dry finish. Pretty tasty.
Pours a rich brown color with a finger of khaki foam that sticks a bit. The nose is sweet chocolate, bourbon pecan, toffee and dark fruit. The palate follows with a well balanced toffee bourbon roundness that really plays nicely with the rich chocolate roasted malt flavors. Well done. Bottle at Bruce’s, London - many thanks to Bruce and the dude who gave him this beer. Pours deep, red-brown with a tight, creamy tan head. Some toasty dark malts in the nose, hints of cheese, some sugary chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor, semi-dark malts, toasty bread, burnt brown sugar, subtle dry burnt wood. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Moderate warmth to finish, some dry wood, mild vinous texture, sugary chocolate. Nice beer, pretty well balanced, tasty. daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 30, 2013
