One of Michael Jackson’s 500 Classic Brews. Carnegie Porter was brewed for the first time in 1836 and tastes the same today as it did then. Carnegie Porter has a creamy head with a scent of coffee. Its sweet and wellrounded flavor is balanced by the bitterness of the hops. Storage helps the flavor mature and enhances its harmony.

From 12oz bottle to shaker. Pour is a deep amber that’s nearly black with a thick tan head, lots of lacing. Nose is coffee, roasted malt. Taste is very sweet, medium bodied, some hop bitterness balancing this out. Finishes so silky with a great after taste. Awesome porter

Bottle (5,5%). Dark with small head. Aroma is malty and roasted coffee. Taste is likewise but not very rich. A bit watery for beeing porter. Notes of sweetness in the finish. An ok, regular, porter beer.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Manchester Wine and Liquors. Appearance is dark brown and mahogany, with no sparkle, ring of beige head with no lacing. Aroma is dark malts with syrupy sweet fruit (lessens as warms), molasses (increases as warms), earth. Taste is mix of bittersweet roasted malts, molasses and dark fruits. Palate is medium-to-full bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste but crisp. Overall, nice balance between sweet and bitter, fairly restrained, with luscious mouthfeel.

AVLarsen (192) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 11, 2017
Bottle. A nice foam. Not quite dark enough for my taste. Taste is nice and bitter but not very rich or full. A nice porter.

Itzjerm (3055) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - JUL 4, 2017
Nose has sweetness and smoke. Taste is the same. Has a creamy nature. Thin lasting head. Nice body. Not a bad beer.
