COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
True to it’s roots, this American IPA delivers on the floral, hoppy notes that made Cottonwood a Boone favorite. 100% malted barley and copious amounts of Cascade, Magnum, and Chinook hops do the trick, artfully brewed by Foothills

A solid IPA. I prefer Two Hearted but this is a good alternative. Not enough lacing, the head stuck around though.

12oz bottle from Secret Santa Nose. Pours a clear orange with a white head. Nose is caramel, burnt caramel, sour citrus hops, and miscellaneous bitterness. Flavor is similar with burnt caramel, mild bitterness, some floral hops and light malt. Light in body and lingering bitterness in the finish.

Hop spice aroma on this amber pour. Much the same in the flavor except more bitter. Smooth finish but nothing exceptional here.

June 4, 2011; 12 oz. bottle from BOTM sampler pack. Very strange IPA. Looks the part (it’s a darker one). Aroma of sweat-socks. Taste is a weird amalgamation of resin and dark fruit/herbal near-spoliation. Despite an awkward start, the hop finish is pleasing. Not my favorite take on the style (but have two more in reserve to potentially change my mind).

Crushed at the Charlotte airport. Nothing overwhelming here though it is smooth and tasty. Decent nose and flavor. Pretty sweet with a bitter finish. Not very sticky but very drinkable.

On tap at charlotte airport. A bit thin and watery for an ipa, but thank you Charlotte airport fir offering me a microbrew. Decidedly on the low end for ipa’s, but better than a bud light, that’s for sure!

Draft at Carolina Beer Co. Bar in Charlotte airport. Pours a clear copper with a thin ring of a head. The aroma is pretty bland. Sticky amber malt and that’s about it. The flavor is a bit off for the style. Strange weird hop quality, almost fruity—but not really good fruity, not citric. A bit of a dry resinous finish. Medium bodied with minimal carbonation. Smooth and pleasant mouth feel. Overall: a strange IPA. Glad to try a beer from NC, but I certainly won’t revisit this one when there are so many other widely available amazing IPAS out there.

Bottle pours a murky amber with much debris floating! Thin tan head. Scent of caramel. Sweet caramel then dry earthy hops. Easy drinking.

From a bottle poured an amber color with a fair amount of head. Nice hoppy flavor with a lasting finish.
