COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brilliant red ale, brewed with caramel and pale malts, is a best seller at the Carolina Brewery. Using traditional brewing methods, the ale yeast provides a touch of fruit and works in tandem with the malt to make for a very drinkable ale. Kent Golding hops lend just enough bitterness and aroma to round out the flavor.

Very undercarbonated. Great color, but no aroma. Clean on the palate, but it’s a solid meh

16 oz draft pours golden with a white head. Aroma of malts, grass and some citrus. Taste is very malty.

From tap at brewery. Pours a deep copper color with a small tan head. Aroma had typical caramel and sugary malt. Taste followed but was not too malty or sweet. A little bitter on the back of the tongue. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2015 On tap at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro. Pours an amber color with white head. Minimal aroma with some caramel and maltiness. Some caramel, biscuits, malts, and toast in the flavors. Not ask that much going on in general, but drinkable.

Draft at the Pittsboro NC location. Poured a dark amber color with a small white head. Aroma was some light malts, sweet fruity notes. Slightly earthy and floral hops. For an amber, this isnt too bad, but it is a little boring. nice malt, decent finish. not too heavy.

Boring beer that doesn’t offer much more than a BIG box brewery. A gift for Christmas and was disappointed from the cracking of the seal! Like their Sky Blue beer muuuuuuch better.

Growler. Pours a very clear amber color with a moderate light tan head that disappears quickly. I find this one to be quite malt forward, with caramel coming through up front with a toasty finish. Feels light and very drinkable. I can dig it.

Clean though light malt flavors. Amber in color with minimal head. Light caramel notes with floral and herbal hops. Medium light bodied with a crisp finish.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2013 Draft at Groupers in Elizabeth City, NC This was our choice of beers for lunch at the restaurant on the Intercoastal Waterway. The ale poured a clear amber to copper color . The head was off-white with modest lacing. The texture was thin to medium bodied. The aroma was of roasted malts and caramel. The ale had average carbonation. This was definitely a traditional amber ale. Excellent for drinking lunch or dinner. The finish was smooth with no hint of bitterness.
