Rich deep hazy copper coloured body with a light bronze glow and a thick, seven centimetre tall soapy , billowy off-white head. Aroma of yeast, alcohol, light hops, malt, soap and a hint of earthiness. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and slightly herbal hops show well up front with a light but relatively balanced malt body and a hint of earthiness from the malt lingers on the palate. Aftertaste shows a very smooth, especially for the style, finish of citrus-based hops and a touch of cardboardie malt. Overall, a nice IPA that borders on the lighter side, but full of hops and a very easy-to-drink body. This is like a cross between a light IPA and a full IPA, and makes for a nice summer drink, for sure! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Cary, North Carolina on 02-August-2014 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 10-November-2014. boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 27, 2014
Can from Chips. Pours hazy golden with a medium sized white head. The aroma is grassy, earthy, light citrus. The taste has almost a bit of smoked malt with a bit of bitterness and grapefruit. Not the worst I had in NC. rosenbergh (11532) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 27, 2014
12 oz can. BB 12/25/14. (Chip’s Wine & Beer) Kill Devil Hills, NC.mR_fr0g (12110) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 23, 2014
Clear amber colour with a big foamy white head.
The aroma is strong fruity and resiny hoppy with moderate bitterness, sweet maltiness and some herbal notes.
The flavour is strong resiny, grapefruity and herbal hops, strong bitterness and sweet maltiness. The hoppy bitterness is a bit harsh which makes this a tad unbalanced.
Bottle shared at Chrisso’s May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Thanks to Chrisso for this one. Hazed golden coloured pour with a halo of off white head. Aroma is golden syrup, caramel, and spicy lemon hop. Flavour is lemon, caramel, spicy hop, hooch. Firm bitterness. Palate is medium bodied, highish carbonation. radagast83 (8059) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - SEP 2, 2014
Draft at the Pittsboro NC location. Its not overly hoppy, mostly light earthy hops, mostly malt. Its okay, however it improved considerably after a few minutes warming up, something that brought out some better floral hop characteristics that were a bit masked when it was cold. A little pine in there, not too bitter.

Can from Five Points Bottle Shop (Lumpkin St.). Gentle citrus, grapefruit aroma, bit of caramel. Light hazy amber/straw color. Slightly sweet malt initial, goes to balance quickly, pine/citrus hops emerge in mid palate, light hop tracks in finish. Thin body, a bit flat. Okay. Somewhat light on the malt body. woodychevy (874) - - JUL 27, 2014
From a can. Fairly drinkable and approachable if not a standout. Like the use of the Cascade hops to bring in a pine/citrus/floral thing without being overpowering. Pours that perfect, beautiful amber color that I am a sucker for. Little to no white head. Body and carbonation medium- not much slickness/ dankness on the palate. Drinks fairly light and pairs nicely with food. Decent.

can @ Habersham Beverage / Savannah SC --- Slightly hazy medium amber with a big, billowy white head, bands and bunches of lace. Nice aroma of malt and citrus. Malt carries this Carolina Brewery offering, with hops joining in the finish. Malt reasserts itself, but in the end there is only citrus hops. This is really quite tasty, excellent with food (at least with Lean Cuisine tonight); not a typical IPA, not strong, but good stuff anyway. nearbeer (5417) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 9, 2014
12 oz. can. Lightly hazy burnt orange with a lasting film of bubbles. Aroma is orange, pineapple, wooden hops, toast and some sticky pine resin. Tastes of caramel, resin, orange, melon and toast with a finish that has some touches of woody pith and green minty herb. Light-medium body has a nice balance and a refreshingly smooth, low-medium carbonation level. Pretty good sessioner that’s just different enough from most standard AIPAs to be interesting. pnesbit (96) - Marietta, South Carolina, USA - JUL 5, 2014
Bottle pour of a light copper hazy brown with a nice off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and light earthy floral hops. Taste of big piney earthy hops with smooth caramel toffee taste. Med to light body with mild carbonation that plays off the bite of the hops with a long lingering bitter finish. Overall a solid beer that stays true to it's style.
