Bought at the brewery in Chapel Hill. Honestly probably the worst Double IPA Iíve had. It smelled nice, pine and resin. But the taste was nill. It was like drinking bitter water. Too bad because I had a draft of their IPA at the brew pub. But the double was bad.

From draft at brewery. Pours a light straw color with no head. Aroma was missing. A light pine. Taste was bitter ale with no malt. Had to go back to bar to question bartender. The poured a sample to confirm. There was no way this was over 3% ABV. Not enough malt in it to make the alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Tylerís, Apex. Medium cloudy gold pour with an average head, decent retention and lacing. Kind of an indistinct sharpness in the nose, with hints of floral and sweeter notes popping up and fading. Body a trace too heavy for me, could use a bit more effervescence, but not bad. Flavors were a bit more satisfying, with a pronounced citrus rind character and hints of sweet malts in there for balance. Nothing too distinctive but it ended up fairly satisfying.

Soft straw gold pour with a sticky white head. Citrusy hop nose with some soft fruity notes. Some bitterly/peach notes come through too. Soft flavor profile with fruity hop notes and citrus rind. Touch of diacetyl. Suuuuuper bitter finish. Very astringent

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a moderate white head. Nose is quite hoppy with grassiness and herbs to it. Taste is bitter and hoppy with a bite to it. I quite like this.

Draft at the brewpub in chapel hill. Pours medium hazy orange golden with a thin white head. Nose is grassy, earthy, citrus, hints of booze. Flavor is similar, pretty well balanced and not overly sweet (thank the chapel hill beer Gods) or infected so I was mildly impressed. One of the better seasonals I have had from CB. Served way too freaking cold (like all of their beers at the brewpub) so it was hard to get a lot out of this during the 20-30 mins I took to drink it.
