Pours with a dark brown body that’s opaque in the glass. Very good head.
Light malty aroma. Clean malty flavor with a well chosen mix of grains. Exceptionally smooth body. Medium carbonation. monk191 (2023) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 1, 2015
A good oatmeal porter. Pours a deep red-brown color. Smells of oatmeal, vanilla. Taste is nutty, with oatmeal and vanilla. Had on tap at the Lighthouse Beer and Wine Festival in Wilminton, NC. metalhead0043 (342) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUL 9, 2015
On tap at Shiki Sushi in Durham. Pours black with a light tan head. Aroma consists mostly of oatmeal and chocolate, typical malty porter flavors. Taste is similar with oatmeal and roasted malts up front with a slight lingering chocolate flavor on the back end. Palate is about average overall. This is a very solid porter. Not sure what the deal with the low rating is. It’s not amazing but very easy to drink and has solid flavors. Ratman197 (15346) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 6, 2014
poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of cocoa, caramel, light vanilla and a hint of coffee. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, roastiness and light coffee with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.

Draft at the Pittsboro NC location. Poured a dark brown, almost black color with a nice tan head. Aromas are roasted malts, some dark bitter chocolate in there. Flavor was creamy malts, roasted chocolate notes. Some dark chocolate. Actually pretty delicious and unexpected. Everyone in my group liked it. nearbeer (5599) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 6, 2014
Pint on tap. Opaque chocolate with a lasting thin film of foam. Aroma is coffee and cocoa. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee and caramel. Near-medium body has medium carbonation and a nice balance. Seems closer to stout territory, but tasty nonetheless. Busick (398) - Lake Wylie, South Carolina, USA - JUN 18, 2014
These two ingredients cannot produce a bad beer, but this one is truly delicious! jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - FEB 7, 2014
