For those desiring a lighter beer that still has hand-crafted integrity, this beer is a German style Kolsch ale made famous in its namesake city of Cologne (Koln in German). This thirst-quenching summer brew is spritzy, not too malty, with all the pleasing aroma of German Hallertauer hops. While fermented warm like all ales, Kolsch beer undergoes a cold aging period like a lager which results in a brew that is complex yet easy to drink.

I had it from the can. It’s lemon, cracker, fruit, and grain. It’s crisp and nicely balanced. This is a refreshing and tasty. I’d get this again.

appearance: clear light gold, soapy white head. aroma: lemon, saltine, light floral honey. taste: light citrus, mostly lemon; cracker, light floral and grassy hops. finish: hint of pepper in the clean, dry finish. notes: Nice palate, easy drinking beer. Not a ton of flavor, even for the style, but not a bad beer. Can from Total Wine in Charleston, South Carolina.

12 oz can. Quiet pour with moderate carbonation and a spent mash aroma. The beer is a hazy gold colour with a short head and weak lace. It has a mash start with some malt showing in the middle. Over ripe fruit notes in the finish. Probably a good laxative.

Not sure why this is scoring so low, probably that beer geeks don’t consider this craft beer. This is a great beach beer. Those looking to try craft beer, this is a great first craft start. Those that like the Coors Light & Bud Lights will LOVE this beer.

Twelve ounce can from variety 6 pack purchased at Village Market (Harris Teeter’s yuppie division), Johns Island, South Carolina, tasted on July 17,2016. Medium golden hue, nice clean aroma of malt with some fruit and spice elements, taste like the nose--easy drinking but flavorful. Good session brew.

HighlanderOne (1364) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - JUL 21, 2016
Poured from can. Aroma of sweet bread and corn. Appearance is gold with barely a head.. Tasting slightly sweet malt and a touch of hops - very similar flavors to lagers. Palate is a bit more sweet than dry, nice carbonation, refreshing. Overall, a good beer for a summer day..

Dogbrick (13547) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 15, 2016
Slightly hazy golden color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of malt, hops and fruit. Light-bodied with flavors of doughy malt, grassy hops and fruit. The finish is malty up front with a mild hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

From a can this is an interesting drink that turns a little refreshing after a few glugs. Hazy, almost looks like a lighter hefe. At first I thot it lacked personality but then I think it has some tartness in there. Thew tartness carries over to the olfactory. Simply a good refreshing beer that hides it’s alky content rather well. Good all round session brew without any ill attributes, not bad! I could drink a sixer of these without any problem, nice job.
