B.D.G. (Brunch. Dinner. Grub.) Brown Country Ale: Matching the right beer to the right food is a wonderful assignment. The contemplation of point and counter-point can can often be as much fun as the reward of good pairing. Sadly, in a life well lived there is not always time to contemplate what dinner will be, let alone what beverage will play best with it. Here we have selected malts to evoke the crusty breads that sit well next to every meal and seasoned it with the lemony,tarragon/thyme notes of Aramis hops. A go-to food friendly brown ale for the table. Drink D.B.G because you are what you eat... and drink.

They say they want it to be food friendly. That makes total sense to me. A lot going on but no 1 thing over the top.

Dark amber with bubbly beige head; aroma is rich and complex with roasty chocolatey and notes of hops on the fringes; Flava is equally complex with deep roasted malt with chocolate notes; feels medium slightly creamy and equally fizzy; MFN finishes long and roasty with hops coming out long after the swallow

gimmicky but i loved it. caramel and vanilla with a hint of chewy chocolate. married in such genuine fashion to a scratchy rye ipa. best brown ale i ever had. citrus, nice heavy enough rye malt "just getting along" it is not smooth. light brown with orange hue supremely satisfying and not to be missed!

Growler from Spirits Unlimited in Toms River, NJ. Mahogany brown color topped by a thick rocky beige head. Rich malty nose has hints of nuts, caramel and cocoa. Flavor follows the nose. Notes of herbal hops balance the big malt flavor. Additional notes of toasted bread and walnuts. Finishes with spicy hops and a chewy mouthfeel. This is very solid brown ale and a nice effort fron Carton Brewing.

Intriguing beer. Very hard to put a label on it. It has a very nice chocolate and coffee aroma that is surprising considering the beer is gold in color with a small white head. The flavor is lighter than the aroma with a nice bitterness, just a hint of the chocolate and coffee. Finish is dry and tasty.

Pours brown somewhat translucent with a smaller grey head. Aroma brings sweet crusty malts and herbal grassiness from the hops. Flavor brings sweet toasty almonds with a smooth light bitter hop note.

Draft at the source. Murky golden color, tan head. Aroma of fresh hay, light cocoa. Taste is cocoa powder, brown bread, nutella. Looks are deceiving, this is nice, flavorful hoppy brown.
