COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The backyard of our brewery has a mulberry tree that drops its fruit in the first days of summer. We moved into our building during early summer 2011, tracking a bright purple path through our new home with every laden step. It was then we decided: if mulberry was going to get that deep into the brewery, it probably should get into a beer as well. Stealing a process from Berliners, we let the lactics in a wheated mash sour up to a green apple/lemon level, accentuating the bright side of the mulberry profile. The barley of the malt bill is light continental two row, its kernelís nuttiness playing to the softer, fruity component of the berriesí flavor, keeping the beer from flying too close to bright. Meant for quaffingg when there is no reason to avoid direct sunlight on balmy Summer days, drink Monkey Chased The Weasel because there is more sun than moon at the top of Summer.

Clear pale yellow beer, small creamy white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweetish, fruity, bit yeasty. Not very intense. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish, fruity, acidic, lemon juice, lemon rinds. Aftertaste: sourish, fruity, pretty nice, some apricot skin, lemony touch again. Decent, but the mulberry isnít very convincing (any more?).

16 oz can thanks to Edís FBW contest. Aroma is fruity, SweeTarts, sugary, floral, grainy. Pours hazy golden with a collapsing off-white head. Taste is sour (8/10) and acidic, fruity (kind of a raisin and overripe dark fruit character). Interesting.

Dont know what a mulberry is, Iím not that smart but this was a cool beer. Big lactic nose, soft berry notes, wheat lemon. Pours hazy murky goldish, thin head. Not the most visually appealing beer but shit. Flavors of big lactic notes, soft berry, wheat, lemon, tangy quenching finish. Nice carbonation. Solid effort. Nice beer.

Can courtesy of jcartamdg. Cheers, Jason! Pours a clear yellow with a white head. Nose is wheat, berry, and some tartness. Flavor is similar with wheat, tartness, and big berry presesnce. Berry lingers into the finish with the tartness fading into the background. Light in body and nice overall.

On tap at Augurís Well, pours a hazy pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of lacto, revealing abbey yogurty quality. Flavour is complex and thick, with shitloads of yogurt, a fairly prominent salty quality, and light tartness. Such a milky quality to it. Wonderfully made. Excellent.

Pours hazy golden rose with a small white head. Aroma is citrus, grass and earthy. Taste is lactic tartness with light sweetness on the finish. Light bodied, with a dry finish. Solid.

Draft at The Pour House in Westmont, NJ. Pours a slightly cloudy, dark golden straw color with a half finger white foam head that quickly settles into a thin ring. Minimal spots of lace left behind. Slightly funky aroma with a faint lactic/cheesy presnce. Kind of bland really with subtle spice, citrus rind and bread. A bit sulfuric as well but the nose is kind of one dimensional and weak. Medium bodid with some tart, puckering acidity up front thatís countered by citrus fruit and sourdough bread notes. Flavors fall off mid-palate and there is an odd metallic adjunct flavor that overpowers. Doesnít have traditional characteristics associated with the style. Lacking in bready yeast, fullness in body, lactic funk and wheat beer notes. Kind of bland really with some lactic funk and sour lemon acidity up front.
