Keg at The Pony Bar UES, NYC. Pours cloudy gold with a fine, fluffy white head. Nice nose with lots of dry citrus, herbs and toasted grass. Light to medium sweet flavor with lots of gritty, dirty straw, dry and ripe orange and lemon rinds, grass, flowers, herbs. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation and chewy texture. Decently resinous to finish with some sticky grass, dirt, raw pine, dandelions, medium sweetness. Lasting bitter flowers and grass. A fair DIPA. corby112 (2804) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Draft at The Pour House in Westmont, NJ.
Pours a cloudy, pale golden orange color with tangerine edges and a one finger, frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind.
The nose of this beer is bursting with sweet citrus and tropical fruit notes along with some dank, grassy pine needle character and a subtle onion like presence. The sweeter notes dominate, however, with strong pineapple juice, mango and orange peel notes.
Medium bodied with a slight creamy texture and a nice balance of dry bitterness and tropical fruit sweetness. Slightly earthy/grassy with resinous pine needle and spruce tip countered by pineapple, mango, clementine and grapefruit. Perfusion provides the perfect amount of sweetness and the pale malt backbone balances things out without hindering the delicious hop flavors. Really well balanced with a well masked ABV. in finish. There’s only subtle heat in the finish making this beer dangerously drinkable. blipp (9598) - La Mesa, California, USA - SEP 28, 2012
Draft. Pours gold, with a white head. Fruity hops, with lighter flowery and piney notes. Pale and lightly sweet malty profile. Good stuff right here. jredmond (8517) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 13, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 14, 2012 Draft at bierkraft with Brendan, streets, Ben and the NYC crew. Pours a bright hazy yellow body with light white lacing. Aroma is fresh zesty citrus and light wheat. Mouthfeel is medium to thin, very refreshing with notes of lemon zest, citrus, fresh citrus hops and light wheat. Awesome double IPA that drinks extremely sessionably. dmac (6429) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - SEP 1, 2012
64oz growler from Spirits Cross Roads. This beer poured a very good looking medium density orange body with a full bright white foamy head. Aroma of dry citrus rind, some tropical fruit notes, nectarine rind, toast crusts. Body is medium to almost fuller with soft carbonation but a full mouthfeel with lots of foamy carbonation that makes this one full and dry. Flavor of dry citrus rind, some ytellow grapefruit, dry yellow grapefruit, some notes of cat piss and touches of super dry pine. Meh....I’ve had most of Carton’s offerings and all of my favs have been their lower ABV offerings...Boat, Milk, MCTW....stick to low ABV and knociking it out of the park with those.

I sampled this right after having the Stone Enjoy By 9-21-12 so that may have tainted my palate a little bit. The aroma was full of piney, spicy hops but on the palate, there was a distinct cantaloupe flavor that dominated the profile. Need to come back to this one, not sure it was totally right. odinstyr (818) - Hamilton, New Jersey, USA - AUG 24, 2012
