Weak roasted maltiness in the aroma; deep amber brown color, nice beige head; roasty and nutt with a hint of vanilla and just a splash of earthy hops in the finish; medium body and smooth mouth feel; fairly traditional, but a bit too much raw roasty notes and less nutty; good overall and it’s good to see places still making a solid brown ale. Draft @ brewpub. Deep, deep red-brown. Caramel aroma. Soft, gentle palate. Nutty flavors. Integrated diacetyl. Could use a more assertive malt character but otherwise it’s just fine. Refreshing, juicy with nice bready finish. Oakes (19013) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 19, 2011
Bright nut brown colour. Nutty aroma with a hint of diacetyl. Tastes the same - maybe with a bit of harshness on the palate. I guess it’s okay for a brown. wcampbell (721) - Clemson, South Carolina, USA - NOV 16, 2010
Not a nut brown fan, and this wasn’t that great anyway. A little too sweet. All malt and a little watery. Overall boring and not something to drink a lot of. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 4, 2009
On tap at the Carver Brew Pub in Durango. Poured a deeper amber color (almost brown) with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of roast, nuttiness, and some chocolate.

Draft pint at the brewpub, 9/18/06: Reddish brown and silky. Sugary-malty, almost brown-sugary. Filling, like a warm chocolate-chip cookie fresh out of the oven.
