Cascade Scottish ale which is supposed to be somewhat soured... Pours a darker mahogany, moStly opaque hue and topped with a thin creamy lightbulb beige head... aroma of muddled caramel malts with hints of tartness and tobacco note...Flavors of earthy light tart caramel malts with a touch of smoke coming through towards the end. Lighter bodied with soft carbonation. Muddled flavored for a base brew that you wouldn’t normally sour. Travlr (26288) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 30, 2011
Cask at the barrel room. Cloudy reddish brown color, off white head. Aroma of sour prunes, a touch of butterscotch, and soft funk. Taste is softly sour apricot. Closer to a sour than a scotch ale. Tasty either way.
