Cascade Apricot Ale is based on our Temptor Triple Ale that has undergone over 8 months of lactic fermentation and oak barrel aging. Ripe NW Apricots are fermented with this beer for 3 additional months. This hand packaged and bottle conditioned ale will only get better with age ... good luck waiting.

Serve at 45-50 Degrees F.

Cascade charges a lot for their beers. Despite this, I think they are the best brewery in Portland. This should say a lot for their beer. 8 ounce little glass from the brewery for six bucks, but Id still say its a bargain. Id rather have a tiny bit of this very beautifully crafted beer than a bunch of rounds of cheaper IPAs or stouts. The body is very well balanced and the smell is deliciously sour with a trickle of apricots to seal the deal. Great stuff.

Really nice raw apricot, some floral aspect, light citrusy, drying oak. Moderate to intense tartness all the way with quite dry finish. Nice sipper.

Cloudy pale straw with minimal, quickly vanishing off-white head. Nose is dominated by sour stone fruits and lime, leather and barnyard aromas, as well as some oak wood. Taste is dry and moderate to heavy sour. The lactic acidity is pronounced and makes it a bit difficult to enjoy more than a glass. Lime is the dominant flavour, with the apricots not very evident. Notes of oak and pale malt. Medium bodied, low to moderate carbonation levels. Sour, dry finish.

75cl bottle via Grand Cru. It pours a clean golden color with a small white head. Aroma is acidic sour lemony with notes of lemon juice, lactic acid, some funk and jammy apricots. Taste is also very acidic and slightly funky with more notes of lemon juice, Greek yoghurt, white wine vinegar, light stone fruit. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, acidic as usual but quite decent apricot presence
