Nothing really "bitter" about this. Just a basic lager. On tap at Cascade.

TedE (1535) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUN 13, 2017
375ml bottle into glass. Light golden amber beer with thin bubbly head which collapses almost instantaneously. Nose is tin. Taste is watery, mouthfeel is oily. There’s some horrible doughy malt, sugar, tin, and vegetables in the finish. This is Tasmania’s own macro nightmare. Really really bad.

KeefOz (1948) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - MAR 30, 2017
ABV 4.4%. BB 24JUN17. Poured a crystal clear amber with a thin bright white cap that diminished to nothing and laced poorly. Carbonation low, average and coarse. Aroma of pale malt; no obvious hops. Taste of pale malt with a hint of sweetness and a touch metallic; no real bitterness. Light body. Crsip and smooth with very slight sweetness on an otherwise bland finish.

4.9%ABV. Pale Lager. Tapped out a rich clear gold. 6° SRM. Mouthfeel was sudsy and smooth. Quite light. Palate had nice pale malt sweetness that was pronounced but a little jaggedly balanced by hop bitterness which was a little two dimensional for me to be very interesting. Finish is brief clean plant-like. Quite a pleasant and easily quaffable beer. Approachable.

gnoff (11138) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 27, 2013
Bottled 375 ml at Cascade Visitor Centre, South Hobart. Sampled on August 8, 2013.
Cost $7 at the bar.
As "Cascade Bitter Beer", marked 4.4% ABV. BB 08 Dec 13.
Clear golden color, whiet head. Sweet, malty, hints of apple scent. Malty, sweet, light bread taste. Medium thin mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

A-- Poured a clear, golden straw color. Lots of small and medium sized carbonation bubbles that stream from the bottom of the glass. half finger of bright white head that almost instantly went to a thin white collar. S-- Slight grassy and bread notes. Not the heavy metallic smell that VB, Toohey’s New, MB, or XXXX have. Very faint smell and quite clean. T-- Sweet bread, grass and citrus. Very clean and crisp. Massive improvement over any of the mainland Australia Bitters. Nothing massive by any stretch but in reality a good soda water with some malt and hops. M-- Clean, crisp, thin, and light. Light bodied and lots of carbonation. More like soda water metallic but that is not a bad thing at all. A little bloating due to the high carbonation but not all that bad. O-- Suitable replacement for sparkling water. Not much wrong with this and not much that just says have more of me. Leaps and bounds better than the normal Aussie "bitter" beers. Just a clean refreshing beer with not a lot of other stuff.

Another Aussie beer that although inoffensive just doesn’t really have anything to offer. Sweet and ever so slightly malty, tastes alright chilled out of the fridge though.

bluevegie (3073) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 7, 2009
Tried at Cascade Brewery not a lot of difference between the lager. Light golden body, a little sweeter maybe, drinkable and not much else.

DuffMan (10751) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 24, 2007
Available only in Tasmaina, so I had to try it. Really hard to tease out much difference between this and the lager. Maybe a little maltier, but ultimately its all grainy cereal that’’s been overcooked. As others have stated already, this isn’t a true bitter by a long shot, more of a standard lawnmower beer.

jkm (235) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 30, 2007
Pale gold in colour with average to high carbonation. Thin and rapidly disapearing white head. Fizzy mouthfeel. Watery. Quite sweet as pale lagers go. Moderately bitter. Nothing special. - 375ml brown glass bottle.
