Bottle thanks to BVC. Another outstanding one from in my opinion the underrated Cascade brewery. Nice tart sour, but not so sour that the the sweetness and fruit flavors do not come through. Well balanced and a joy to drink.

750ml bottle, pours a dark purple brown with an off white/pinkish head. Aroma of blackberries, dark fruit, oak, a hint of chocolate, yeasty funk. Flavor is blackberries, slightly tart, some oak, hints of chocolate and a slight touch of vanilla. Sweet and tart finish. Very enjoyable in this summery weather we’ve been enjoying here in So Cal.

Poured a purple brown color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of blackberries, vanilla, dry oak, wild yeast, citrus, and toast. Taste of blackberries, citrus, dry wood, light acidity, and a sour finish.

Bottle 75cl. @ Papsoes blindtasting. [ Bottle #6. ]
Unclear medium to dark amber red color with a average, creamy, good lacing, mostly - fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is berry sour - tart, sour raisin, cherry, cask wood, lactic, leather. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090501]

Poured from 750ml thanks to illidurit. Purplsih -muddy brown with a small white/purple tinted head. Great nose of berries and chocolate. Not as sour as expected, quite good with a nice finish.

Thanks to Iowaherkeye for sharing this, pours deep and hazy reddish brown with a thin off white head. Nose is faint blackberry and some soapiness. The flavor is subtle but quite the same as the nose, with nothing in the finish that I was hoping for.

750mL no date from Monument. Hazy auburn with a 1/2 finger off-white head. Fake blackberries in the aroma with some light soap, hints of wheat. Flavor continues with a dry finish, acidity @ a 3. Mod carb with light carb. Speed rating, and not that good!

75cl bottle courtesy of illidurit. Opaque red-brown with a light brown, almost pink tinted head. The aroma caught me off guard because of the blast of milk chocolate. Pretty oaky with the chocolate and a rich blackberry quality as well. The flavor has some chocolate and is lightly sour with lots of berry. Very effervescent with a lighter body. While the aroma was bursting with chocolate, the flavor was more dry and tart. Pretty cool.

illidurit (2354) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 28, 2009
Pours the color of blackberry preserves, with a little dark caramel color in the highlights. Lasting ring of pinkish ecru head. Aroma is very oaky with sweet milk chocolate notes and unripe berries. Flavor is blackberry seeds with raspberry cordial sweetness. Solid tartness but not sour by any means. Obvious oak influence. A little too bubbly at first but it settles down. Finish is pleasantly dry. Way better than the Kriek.
