A strong sour aroma, definitely has the pink purple color of a blackberry. This is quite sour- mouth-puckering really. Yet it's not that good. I think the fruit lends a sweetness that doesn't work, despite the sour base. And it is nowhere near worth the exorbitant price.

Poured into a plastic cup showing translucent rims and an opaque center. The nose shows intense blackberry notes. The palate is light to moderately carbonated, full bodied with a perfect fruit forwardness of black berries and a perfect tartness. Slightly too easy to drink and missing complexity and depth in flavors some would want from most sours but given this is the only blackberry sour that I know, this is very well done and surpassed my expectations.

Nicely integrated black berry and modest sourness. Lovely deep purple only color.

JaBier (8178) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - OCT 25, 2015
Bottle shared by a friend. Hazy purple pour with a medium pink head. Aroma of sweet blackberry, malt and sour vinegar. Sour berry flavor with a bit of sweet maltiness before a sour finish.

Sample at Decatur Beer Fest, yes I tried to hit the expensive bottles. What you have come to expect from Cascade. Good tart sour with a decent bit of body and a light oakiness. The fruit comes through big though and is decently sweet.

Dogbrick (13564) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 9, 2015
Sample from bottle at Aces and Ales South Nellis. Pours a slightly hazy reddish-purple color with a medium white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of tart berries, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of tart blackberry, herbal yeast, oak and doughy malt. The finish is moderately tart with a lingering blackberry aftertaste. Solid beer all around.

Great blackberry arms. Very tart and very acidic. Grea none the less as blackberries helped balance out sharp tartness.

rudolf (2360) - Buffalo, New York, USA - SEP 15, 2015
2014 bottle. Purple/ruby, pink head. Nose is lactic blueberry, blackberry, some wood, light floral, light fishy, smarties. Flavor is blueberry/raspberry, lactic smarties, some woody tannins. Finish rounds out a bit but ends up a bit flabby / too wide.
