COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

It pours cloudy red, with a thin white head. The nose is farmyard, sweet blueberry, jam, blackcurrant, lime and sherbet. The taste is tart blueberry, juicy fruit, blackcurrant, red grape, jam, lime and sherbet, with a juicy-tart finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Great balance of juicy fruit and sourness. Delicious.

6floz taster draft that my mind wants to believe there is some purple in appearance, but my eyes tell me it is just a rust-brown. The nose is delightfully musty and fruity, like and old mans closet with a basket of fruit. Palate is more rounded than some sours, since aftertaste is minimal. It is medium in body and sour though. Blueberries are more of a footnote, but are present upfront and in the back of the mouth. All in all, it is an intricate sour. As an aside, I think the Sang may be a little better despite my slightly lower rating.

On tap at Hops & Pie, vintage 2016. Ruby red to purple in appearance with slight haze and a small white/pink head. Aroma of blueberries, earth, sour funk and a hint of toasted oak. Similar flavor, fruity, tart and sour with some light herbal/floral notes. Light dry feel with a fresh blueberry finish. Nice.

lamas (1655) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 9, 2017
750mL corked & caged bottle courtesy of agl108. 2015 Project. Mine says 8.23% ABV. A slightly hazy ruby pour with a thin and fizzy quartz head. The extremely tart aroma features vinegar, blueberries, lemons, wheaty grains, oak, and funky cheese. Goes down medium-bodied. Crisp wheaty grains start things off taste-wise. An oaky woodsiness and cheesy funkiness follow. Tart blueberries and sour lemons finish things off. The slightest touch of warming alcohol at the very end. Quite dry. Vinegar qualities dominate throughout. Outstanding!
