Bottle shared at Todd’s. Funky in nose like other Cascade beers. Sour acidity and blueberry. lightbias (453) - USA - JUN 4, 2016
Cage and cork is always tricky, but this time was a breeze. A deft twist, a bit of gentle tugging at the cork, and I’ve got my response.
- The release is imminent, apparently, and I barely catch the initial burst of beer in my glass when I pop the cork. Musky notes of dark fleshed fruits and oak spill from the neck, making aromatic promises that I desperately hope will come to fruition.
- I tip the glass, the cool liquid floods my mouth and the skin on the nape of my neck rises in response. It’s always so amazing when a brew invites your whole body to the party. Tart and dry, each sip brings a fresh reaction from my tongue; my taste buds awash in sensation. Sip after sip, Cascade Brewing’s Blueberry is a deluge of bright, fresh fruits that redesign themselves to earthy, oak laden accents all within a single quaff. The metamorphosis does not stop there. The tang invests itself in my mouth, starting with my lips and gradually making its way along the edges of my tongue, and coming to rest only after the full swallow. What’s left is a delicious combination of oak, vanilla and fruit culminating in a dry, quick finish and leaving nothing but the desire for more.
- Cascade’s Northwest Style Sours are worth every single penny I’ve paid for them. If only I had a lot more pennies. beerplace (1959) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 30, 2016
On the 10th anniversary of Alibi Room. Pours a clear copper with a weak rose head. Aroma and taste are sour with fermented blueberry notes. Sour berries aftertaste. Johnstledger8 (1269) - Dublin, IRELAND - MAY 21, 2016
Bottle. Pours a dark rich pinkish red with a thin lacy light pink bubbly head. Aroma is of blueberries, vinegar, cranberry, some raspberry. Taste is of more blueberries, pine, funky, citrus, sherbet, tart. Oily mouthfeel, dry finish, medium carbonation. michcam8 (579) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 6, 2016
750ml bottle for $25. Good beer, understand the craft, wine kinda, but for the price point, I have had better beers in this style. With that said, I did enjoy this offering. Purple pour, with zero head and lacing. I pick up the funk, blueberries, cob webs, white wine barrels, and malt. Taste is tart, funk, sour, fruity funk and dryness. No detection of alcohol. Good, not great.

Thanks, Carl! Dark brown/purple pour. Huge sour/acetic aroma. Blueberries, oak, vanilla, tart, lactic. A tad on the extreme side, but still tasty sour! sunevdj (4123) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - APR 25, 2016
Bottle at CBC 2012. Pours a hazy red-orange. Bitter, sweet and sour with aromas of cherries and some fruits of the forest. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Dry finish. drowland (8955) - Georgia, USA - MAR 15, 2016
3/15/16. 750mL bottle from Craft on Draft. Dark blue/purple pour with a small, fizzy pinkish purplish head that sizzles away fast. The look plus my color blindness sorta makes it look like a glass of Diet Coke... but of course purple/blue when I look closer. Annnnnnyway... huge sour aroma, on par with other Cascades, leaning a bit towards acetic, though, tannic berries and dark fruits. Big sour flavor, acidic, citric, lactic, and acetic, etc. Blueberry, dark fruits, oak and vanilla, a touch musty, lingers very sour and dry. SirLimpsalot (4452) - SWEDEN - MAR 10, 2016
@ Cascade 16-3-9: småsyrliga blåbär med lite syltvarning. Ingen stor bärton utan enbart en liten gnutta. gyllenbock (9713) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 9, 2016
On tap at Cascade. Pinkish with a small head. Mild aroma of blueberries, more in the taste. Also funk and oak. The finish was dry.
