COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

750 ml bottle split with Adam Jackson. 2012 vintage. Poured a hazy purple color with thin white head. Nose is mostly tart berries and light lacto. Taste is fresh blueberries initially then transitions to tart puckering wheat notes. Some Earthy notes and light booze. Light to medium body with a dry tart finish. Acidic and lightly sharp after taste. This is a beautiful sour and would love to grab a bottle and sit on it to see how it changes. Awesome!

Bottle split with Tom and Jessie. Pours a purple haze with thin white head. Aromas and taste are very perfumey, and dark grape forward. Lots of barrel yeast with a really sour finish. As it warmed I got more tart blueberry, raspberry, and other sugary fruitts. Pretty tasty.

Fruits of the foeder @ Alex Purple with a white head. Sour and sweetish aroma with blueberries. Bacon-like flavour with some berries and strange solvent.

Bottle:   Pours violet, definite pinkish hue, moderate to thin sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Aroma of unripened Blueberries, well at least Blueberry bushes.   Its like unsweetened immature Blueberries.   Tart on the tongue up front, backside is dry with a soft unripened Blueberry sweetness.   Very clean this is.   Comes across as very dry and very tart.   Nothing off about this one.   Not as big and robust as some of their other offerings, but it is certainly tart, fruity, and mouth puckering.   Strong woodiness on the nose as well as on the tongue.   I keep thinking to myself how clean this one is.   The more I drink, the more I realize how dry this one is.   My mouth is very much puckering after a few sips.   While the Blueberry aspect is there, its not as strong as I would have liked.   Either way, this is a very clean and well put together PNW sour ale.   Comes across as very clean and very easy to drink.   Easily one of the better Blueberry beers I have had, ever!

This one poured a semi hazy dark blue color with a small pinkish head. Aroma was of blueberry skins, lemons, wood, and hay. Flvor was pretty sour, funk blueberry, and cheesy lemons.

DLD 2012: Pinkish hue with a fizzy head. The profile was tart blueberries and white grapes, oak, wheat, biscuit, mineral, and a hint of tannins. The mouth feel was quite refreshing, sprite and lively with just the right amount of oak dryness. I really enjoyed this even with the high level of acidity. Nice!
