75cl, Vintage 2009, at 12.1%Vol, exclusive American brew, with dates, thx to Secret Santa!, very complex sour Porter, roasted/vinous and slightly sweet/alcoholic, not too heavy, very balanced, cloudy, small head, top class!, yet very expensive! Maakun (5748) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - SEP 24, 2016
Tap at Borefts. Clear almost black with short lasting dark beige head. Lots of bourbon, sour red fruits, vanilla, light chocolate, dried red berries, red wine. Medium sweet and sour. Medium bodied. Unusual but good. hayduke (5571) - Eureka, California, USA - NOV 22, 2014
Sampled at the Kick Starter event at the Humboldt Cider Company to help fund their new tasting room. Pours near black with a light tan head. Nose of funk and oak, along with some fruit and chocolate. Full body, Rich mouth feel. Flavor is a lot of wine barrel and the sourness is very present and this carries over to the finish. I really liked this. Sample at stone sour fest 2010. Dark brown pour, small off-white head. Dark fruit, very sour and tart, funk, berries, rich sweetness, dark malts, and cherry. This is excellent, one of the better ones. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAY 2, 2011
Bottle. I keep finding im not a big fan of strong sours. Pours a hazy bruin body with a yellow off white head. Big bourbon and bugs up front. Huge warmth, sour cherry and fig. Sticky with vinegar and a big sour warmth. Seems really messy and phlegm inducing. Not a big fan.

Bottle: Wow, I don’t know where to start. In my notes, I have a ton of stuff written down and then it’s all scratched out and just says "Everything about this is good." Fantastic nose of balanced tart fruit, loads of oak and funky cobbwebb notes along with a mild bourbon and light roast note. Fantastic balanced flavor and complex finish. I have more of these in the cellar and they will be shared generously. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JUN 2, 2011
Thanks to HonusWagner for sharing this one at IBrew2or3’s going away. Pours cola brown with a tan head. Nose is chocolate, spice, sour cherries, lactic sourness, vinegar, bourbon, and a nice tart dark bite. Flavor is similar. This beer has amazing complexity. As HonusWagner said, there are several things going on here, and each aspect of this beer is clearly defined. It has the chocolate elements of a porter, it has the bourbon of a barrel-aged beer, and it has the sour/ lactic quality of a tart sour. There is so much complexity stemming from the bending of all of these styles into one. The result is an enjoyable, smooth mouthfeel and a veritable plethora of flavors that must be sipped and pondered. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - SEP 18, 2010
Sampled at GABF on 9/16/2010. This sour ale pours a medium brown color. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is dark fruit, tart, wood and a hint of bourbon. A medium bodied sour ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, yet still pretty tart as well. The hops are herbal. Lots of bourbon and wood. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Nice tartness, good cherry flavors. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart. Homer321 (5111) - Melboring, Florida, USA - OCT 19, 2014
Bottleshare thanks to dextercat. Nose is moderate bourbon with a light tartness. Some light choco flavor. Medium off white head. Taste is moderate bourbon and vanilla with a smooth malt richness. Light alcohol warming. Holy cow this is good! AdamChandler (5086) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 28, 2013
on tap at EBF Dark brown
Nose is Oaky tart apples and white grapes
Starts tart. Finishes oaky with grapes and cherries with smoke and boozy heat. It’s very hard to say its okay or not. Overall, a very boozy sour which is not desirable.
