Funny dark purpley red with no head. Nose is cascade all the way. Funky, a chemical touch, that special cascade nastiness, well that's too much, but you know. Cascady is the name of the game. Weird frosting and black cherry koolaid. Sour but not as agro as other cascades. Sweet pretty balanced palate. Taste is cascade profile, black cherry koolaid, tart cherries, lactic acid, lemon juice. Taste is aggressive sour as are all cascades. krumbum (1109) - truckee, California, USA - MAR 24, 2015
Smells like a chocolate covered cherries. Deep cherry red. Smooth rich cherry that the sour grows out of, along your jaw. Left over tartness sticks around.

Personal contribution to the “pre-club 54 tasting”. Obtained in a trade with AdamJackson. 2012 Vintage. Very dark red fruit appearance, little in the way of head. Nose is thick dark fruits, lactic, quite puckering, lots of skins, some age,… Taste is dark fruits, puckering wine, very sour, lots of sour cherry skins, some dusty age,… Puckering vinegary body. Pretty good even if I had some higher hopes. bhensonb (15358) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 16, 2015
750 c&c shared by Marcus. Pours like a nice cab or zin. A very deep inhale produces a near-homicidal burst of astringent cherry. Med body or better. Flavor is like a very good red wine, except it’s cherry and a tad tart. Woody oak fits. marcus (10354) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 16, 2015
Bottle from Capitol Beer &Tap Room. Pours blood red with no head and an intense cherry and treacle aroma. There is a dry cherry flavor with an oak finish. This is a very unusual brew that is a pleasure to drink.

Sample at Sour Sunday 2015.
Ruby red with a small head. Aroma and taste of cherries, oak, funk and light spices. The finish was on the sweet side. Sour but not extremely sour. Balanced and refreshing. Tasty!

Cherry red and clear with no head. Big fruit aroma of cherries. Tart and sour flavor without being puckering. Smooth finish like a sweet tart. Very nice. TheGoldenChalice (24) - The Garden of the Beer Gods, North Carolina, USA - JAN 4, 2015
750ml bottle. Served in a Teku. 2014 Project, recently bottled.
Aroma -- distinct, astringent, sour, cherry, mouth puckering aromatic qualities that leaves me salivating for more. Arguably, the best aroma I’ve encountered w/ a Cascade sour.
Appearance -- dark burgundy appearance w/ fizzy head emblematic of a blackberry/cherry-like sour. Head is similar to De Garde’s Blackberry Bu w/ some burgundy color that dissipates quickly. Almost looks like cranberry juice after it has sat out for an hour.
Taste -- effervescent, tart cherry mouthfeel that is more sour and tart than sweet, which I appreciate considering I was quaffing NG Belgian Red this weekend. Subtle oak on finish, but not prevalent throughout initial sip. Extremely enjoyable and sessionable.
Palate -- Semi-spritzy, elegant, across entire palate. My, god -- the cherries blend remarkably well w/ the Red ales which were coalesced in this brew.
Overall -- one of my favorite cherry beers. Fruit flies hovering over my cup within ten minutes, and my place is immaculate. I am truly saddened this is a limited seasonal release; I could drink this year round. Thank you, Cascade Brewing for your continued efforts and craftsmanship.
