COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This live barrel of NW style sour red ale was initially aged for six months in French oak wine barrels, then additionally aged on elderberries. Sharp wine, dark raisins, red grapes and cereal notes greet you on the nose. Tart dark fruit and grapes on the palate lead to a sparkling crisp dry finish with hints of fresh elderberries and grape skins.

Tap into a snifter showing lightly filtered brown/rust red with no head. The nose shows cherry cough syrup. Not very nice. The palate is highly carbonated and medium bodied. Moderately tart with flavors of red fruit and black forest fruits - plums, cherries, strawberries, and grapes. Followed by a light red wine bitterness on the finish. Spicy tannins throughout but in general without much vinous qualities. Very well done.

Clear deep reddish almost purple beer, small creamy off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, lots of cassis, lots of jam, sweet ripe fruits. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: very acidic start, lots of elderberries, almost sweet, fruity finish. Actually a Cascade beer that I like, nice!

4oz draft at B Side. Stem glass. Reddish brown with bare offwhite head. Tart berries, red wine, oak, earth, herbs. Sharp, but lacks the over-the-top acetone of other Cascade sours. Pretty good.

4 oz. pour, on tap at Clubhouse BFD in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Consumed on 9-27-16. Ruby to dark amber. Small amount of beige head. Very nice shade of liquid. Hazy. Quite juicy, tart aroma. The berry really shines through in the smell. Tart flavor, a bit sour. Merlot wine. Purple grape juice. Brett evident in Band-Aid form (not my favorite expression of the yeast). I really like the berry tartness, and the non-ideal Brett effect fades on multiple sips. Medium body. Soft and fizzy in the palate. A very good and likable fruit sour overall.

On tap at Hops & Pie. Ruby brown appearance with a tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, sour berries and lighter notes of red wine, vanilla and barnyard funk. Similar flavor, quite fruity, vinous and lightly earthy with moderate sourness. Medium body with a tart, puckering feel and a light oaky finish. Nice.
