COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This live barrel of NW style sour red ale was initially aged for six months in French oak wine barrels, then additionally aged on elderberries. Sharp wine, dark raisins, red grapes and cereal notes greet you on the nose. Tart dark fruit and grapes on the palate lead to a sparkling crisp dry finish with hints of fresh elderberries and grape skins.

Aroma is like a berry pie. Come is purple. Taste is tart and ends sweet berry like. Almost the same as eating blackberries. Husband hates sours, but thought this was a well done concept. Tap

Draught @Borefts 2016 - Dag 1, merci Art. Elderberry fruit acids soon devoured, along with the well-hidden alcohol, by an oaky vinegars so immediate, literal and joyless that it stifled my palates sympathy and imagination aka I lost all interest. - Prickly pear berries, to the tongue, to the palate, to the enamel, to the throat. Remnants of sweeter grape and cassis retronasal - not saying there was nothing there to begin with. Very little mouthfeel, bonedry and spalos. - In terms of lambiek, geuzes and wild beers, Id rather prefer my palate not being bludgeoned into submission by "sours", but by an organically balanced wildness and depth of fruit that serves a purpose. And thus lactic acid doth make sourheads of us all... Always willing to taste this side-by-side with a 3F Framboos or Cantillon, just not at this price point for bottled lacto. #OldEuropeWeighinginonSourMania.

Tap @ Borefts. Dark brown color. White berries and soft floral notes in the aroma and flavor. Citrus. A light but persistant sourness. Alcohol totally hidden. Good!
