Brilliant lactic sour aroma with dark fruit and oaky in there as well. Flavor is dark fruit, oaky, woody, and quite sour. Maybe 7 or 8 of 10 sour. Another great by cascade. Almost has some whiskey like flavors at the end, even though I know it isn't aged in whiskey barrels. Very dark, almost opaque color. Very full flavored. Really awesome.

Dried dark cherries and raspberries, somewhat minimal cany like aroma, brownish clear, great berry flavors with funky tart finish. 77ships (9776) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 26, 2016
UPDATED: OCT 1, 2016 Thank you for sharing BE RB Crew! Sampled draft @ Borefts 2016. Day 1. Very dark brown, small tanned head. Nose is massive jammy fruit, makes me thick of blueberry but that is the elderberry I suppose, crazily jammy, low wood. Taste is blueberry vinegar, low chocolacte, puckering, massive lindering dark berry, grapes, thick, wood, low acidity. Amazing jam, puckering, juicy, huge jam-like dark berries. Another absolutely wonderful Cascade brew. harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Nice pretty dark rose colored beer with little/no foam and a high degree of clarity. Nose is just as expected, I dig the elderberry - herbal, floral and fruity like a blend of blueberries, soil, spices, some lavender like tones atop a leathery prune skin. Hints of peppercorn. The flavor comes through with reserved tart for the brewery and a good dose of aromatic and infectious flavors which are rich and robust with delicacy at the same time. Of fruit flavored sours, this may be my favorite choice of fruit and flower. Medium bodied with moderate carb and a slick finish. I like this beer, I like this beer a lot.

Draft at the barrel house. 2013 edition. Pours a brownish red color with no head. Sweet blueberry and strawberry aroma. Super sour flavor, with a complimenting sweet blueberry flavor. Finishes s we etc and sour, and the bl7eberry, or I guess maybe elderberry, lingers forever. Great sour.

Bottle shared with Brian - thanks to Sean for this one! pours cloudy brown with a medium tan creamy head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is tart fruity, lemon, oak, funk. Flavor is medium tart with some initial sweetness that fades to dry in the finish. Fruity, with distinct notes of elderberry, which I know cause I used to pick them as a kid in Wisconsin. Medium body, champagnelike mouthfeel. A very nice sour. I enjoyed this one.

On tap at Cascade. dark brown-orange. This was my favorite of the sour Cascades I tried. Aroma is berry jammy, dark fruit, tart. Taste port and dark fruit but more of background than tawny port. Currants, pepper, medium even sour. Awesome. Little more well rounded than the Kriek I tried at same time (which was also very nice). 8.6 jonnyguns (1105) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 6, 2014
Bottle from Torst, Brooklyn. Pours a deep purple amber pour with an off white head that leaves plenty of lace. Aromas of earthy tones, raisins, berries, chocolate and oak. Very complex nose. Taste is upfront sweet berries - blueberries, raisins and grapes with a dark/sweet malt backing. Oak and balsamic mainly coming through. Fucking complex. fucking awesome beer GreatDane1632 (1169) - North Dakota, USA - JAN 13, 2015
This beer has a story. I purchased this in Florida for a trade. I packed this up and had it ready to be taken as a checked bag on my flight to ND. Unable to check my 12 bottle Styrofoam shipper and had to leave it with my folks. Out of the goodness of their heart decided to ship it to me. The box was subjected to a lot of sub-freezing weather and this bottle froze and leaked. I received the box this afternoon, and after sitting out in my baasement, it has thawed and so the natural thing to do is drink it, right? Well, drink it I did. Poured into a large teku -- Brownish/Red almost wine-like appearance when pouring, quickly dissipating bubbly white head. Aroma is exciting: tart, sour, and cherry. Flavor starts with pucker on the front of the tongue that meanders to tart elderberry fruit in the middle to back of the tongue and you are left with a slight tingling in the cheeks. Dark amber beer. The nose is very fruity and fresh. A touch of barrel character adds light vanilla notes and a bit of vineous complexity. Soft tannins in here as well that keep it interesting. Tart and lactic keep the beer very bright and fruity. A bit of lingering earthiness. Damn delicious stuff.
