Poured from tap to glass. Aroma is ginger, sugar, acetic, white peppercorn, lemon rind. Mouthfeel is nice with a light body and good carbonation. Taste is dry throughout with sharp following and acidic tart finish. Overall this is a nice ginger beer that isn’t over the top. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - AUG 27, 2011
Draft at Balefire. Wow, what an oddly successfully (or successfully odd) little beer. Pours a clear dark gold with a loose white head. Big honey ginger nose, especially gingery, almost a black pepper note in with the ginger. Creamy medium body, a bit sticky, with lively carb. The honey and ginger suggest a particularly delicious health-food breakfast cereal or something; it’s toasty with peppery spice from the ginger and then the nice soothing, coating sweetness of the honey. Very interesting and nice, though probably not one to order by the pitcher. The flavors make a pretty loud statement. bvc (1242) - Washington, USA - JUN 29, 2011
Live barrel at Cascade. Pours a slightly hazed darker honey gold with plenty of slightly off white head that has great retention. Aromas of spicy ginger, touch of lactic and good amount of lemon tartness. Lighter body feel with a tighter carbonation feel, almost on the creamy yet effervescent side. Tart lactic up front, hint of honey sweetness then makes way to pleasant lemon tartness. Ginger is present the whole way through and adds an interesting spiciness without overtaking the beer. A little cloudy orange a great meringue of a head. Powdery fizz of emergen-C ginger and lemon. In the mouth it has a big lemsip flavour with a burst of tart lemon and a bready, yeasty finish.
